As a young bruh I would love these type of videos. shyt I used to stay up trying to catch a glimpse of BET Uncut. But now my old head sensitivities kicking in saying what about the kids :damn:

nikkas is becoming they parents without knowing it :pachaha:
You should look at the comments for the video on the blogs, because the demographic they’re targeting dont even fukk with it

the coli is just an echo chamber of conversations that are already happening regardless

I think perspective of the long term effects of this music/culture, has allowed us to see how detrimental it is long term.

In the 90s, I’m sure many of us just saw Gangsta Rap as art reflecting life and not vice versa. We didn’t realize the long term damage it would have on the next generation.

Now with social media so widely accessible, we’re seeing the direct influence these artists have on the youth. At least back then, there was a semblance of balance. For every Foxy Brown, we had a Queen Latifah. For every Lil’ Kim, we had a Lauryn Hill. For every NWA, there was a De La Soul.

What we have a now is full fledged onslaught on the black “community” via our own “culture.” If it’s not emasculating the black male, it’s then creating a precocious mindset to our young girls.

I truly fear for the future because it feels hopeless to protect our children from these demons.

In addition, it’s moving the focus from education to fast money. Even five year olds are on YouTube making millions. I’m not going to judge how others make their money, but it’s a shame that getting money the old fashioned way is no longer in fashion.

That’s why I wasn’t impressed when people were celebrating Meg graduating. Why not make a “Independent” ala Salt N Pepa type single, instead of constantly making hyper sexual singles? Could you imagine how revolutionary that kind of song would be if it had a video to accompany it?

That’s why there’s no doubt in my mind these current generation of artists are puppets. They have the following but they choose to embrace this kind of ignorance.

Honestly, I think it has to do more with the over saturation of the same type of imagery and musical content. It just loses its "shock value" and appeal.
Like you know what you're getting when she's releasing a video so its like :russell:

There are only so many times you can rap about thot shyt in a skimpy outfit and expect people to be like :gladbron:
