I read the manga awhile back and I was so disgusted with the ending I stopped watching the anime.
But this theory makes a lot of sense and it would completely redeem the story for me. To bad we won’t get a continuation or a spinoff to find out if this theory is true or not because Hajime Isayama said he’s done with atot.
