I loved the first 3 seasons. Post time skip, basically the final season felt like a convoluted mess. There were interesting ideas that Isayama put in, but when it came all together it just became a mess. I do agree once the heel turn happened it just kept spiralling down. The journey to the ending and the ending just don't add up imo.

Though I do wonder if Isayama even knew how to end it.

I still can't get over how this series unraveled in the end. It's still a great series but it left a nasty taste with that ending. The author destroyed Eren as a character. It all ends up feeling so pointless. Code Geass does the unite the world against me plot better.

He was somewhat likable early on but in that last part they seemed to change his character and his behavior was irrational in the end.
