Kinda funny thinking I was going in with the same stuff unlocked in the same order as the demo but nope!

Gotta unlock the moves, claws and the grappling hook. Not complaining, just surprised.
Yea that first stage demo was super duper light compared to this. If it wasn't for the map on one of the second stages you can get lost for real.

Playing Shinobi after Ninja Gaiden. How do I describe the experience. It is like the first time I had a medium rare fillet after having my steaks well done for all of my life.

Different class.
I just started last night, after I beat NG Ragebound a few hours earlier and got about an hour in and man, you ain lying.

This vid from Parks and Recs pretty much sums up the comparison between the two.

So is it still worth buying Ninja Gaiden? I was on the fence about it.

If you just like games/action-side scrolling platformers and just wanna play them all or, just like ninja games or just like Ninja Gaiden, then yes. If you're the type that only wants to play the best of a particular lane or are budget concious or lacking of time, then you'd be better off just copping Shinobi then.

For reference grading point, Ragebound after it's all said and done is like a solid 8, at best, and Shinobi, so far is easily a very strong 9, at least. Comparatively, there's like literally nothing that NG does better than this on any account, unless you just a stickler for old school, pixelated graphics.

Naw yall selling NG short.

It’s a very different game than Art of vengeance. . More old school arcade like, and lots closer the gameplay design of the source material of both franchises.

If you liked the OG NG and Shinobi games. Ragebound is like both of those mixed together with some updated graphics and gameplay elements.

Art of vengeance is more closely aligned with modern 2D hack n slash games. It has more “meat” per se as a game with the combos, exploration, i think it’s longer, more fleshed out story stuff, it just has more stuff to do, and feels more like a full fledged game you would expect in 2025.

I can understand people saying Art of Vengence is better.

But i think there is some value in a more old school “arcade” like experience.

I feel like “the messenger” is better than both of them tho :mjpls:
