We're going to get to the point where we start building storage facilities specifically for people just so they can have a shelter. There has been a dramatic increase of people living out their cars already. It's really a sad and broken system.
Seen some TikTok’s where homeless people were finessing storage facilities and using them as a shelter

We already outlawed homelessness and owning a home/shelter is deemed a luxury NOT a human right.

People need to realize that it won't be governments that solve this crisis. They can't pivot now it's us who have to break the mold. Housing doesn't have to cost this much and have huge entry barriers. We need solutions that come from the people. Then to make governing bodies accept them. They won't save the people. The way shyt is setup now anyone who is already a home owner is against reform because any meaningful reform would mean they might be on the losing end. We can't bring down prices. People worried bout their investments.
It's a lost cause.

The problem is that most of the country owns homes and is well established. there's no incentive to actually solve the problem, beyond lip service. 66percent of the country is homeowners vs 34percent being renters . :francis:

This problem exists because the country wants it to exist. It's perfect democracy. Those people you want to rally behind your cause already own houses . There is no chance that 1/3 of the population will be able to convince two-thirds of the population to abandon nimby-ism. Even if your solution was to riot, there would be more anti-rioters on the opposing side who would be conveniently supported by both politicians and these bankers/private equity groups.

TYRONE GA!
It's not Capitalism. It's greed.
Unchecked Capitalism creates greed.

The fact that in the USA it's "a dollar over everything" mentality don't help. EVERYTHING is about the dollar here and that's why this country will fall.

The most ironic thing is that as a nation we see absolutely nothing wrong with constructing expensive prison complexes to hold homeless people.

But you are looked at like a communist radical for suggesting that we can just build them houses to live in at a lower cost than holding them in correctional facilities.

In the entire country of 350 million people, there are only 600,000 homeless people. If it were a priority it could be solved . There's simply is no will to do so

The North American dream is to become a landlord. Its VERY apparent in Canada right now and NO ONE wants home prices to go down cause that’s their main investment/their REtirement fund

We are fukked when it comes to housing lmao. Only possible solution is Godzilla or a natural disaster straight outta the movie 2012.

I mean there's cheap houses everywhere outside of major cities and states.

I know not everybody wants to live in Little Rock, Arkansas, but I'm just keeping it real. Can't go around screaming how high houses are when you have cheap examples below. :hubie:Folks want a solution? Just move. That's the unfortunate reality, but at least you'll have a roof over your head that you own and build equity in.

$143k starter home

$189k for this is CHEAP

This whole Idea that people can keep moving where there is no resources to better save money is not reality. The ones who will actually be able to do that are probably working remote and will come to these places and drive up costs eventually. The towns themselves need to build up and attract people so that they can organically grow and sustain the population. Otherwise a bunch of people rushing to remote places with no jobs and resources to save money isn't logical if they don't come with money or entrepreneurship
