Russia gets a new or even strengthened foothold in the Middle East. Meaning it can cause even more fukkery. .
I don't think so. In the best case scenario for Russia, things will go back to what they were before the war; in the worst case scenario, their ally Syria will be weakened for a long time.
In both cases, they did not gain anything; they just kept what was already between their hands.
I'm a supporter of a free Palestine and Kurdistan. With that said, I'm not comfortable "creating" allies then leave them fukked. But you're right, that's a personal problem.
EDIT: Given that we have national security interests in the Middle East (whether we like it or not), it is our business to a degree.
It's sad for the Kurds, but I think they were fukked from the beginning. They should have accepted Assad's offer.
The US won't choose Kurds over Turkey.
And this is not the first time the Kurds have been played; they should have learned by now.
Whether it is or isn't, one thing it does do is give Putin free reign in the region.
No. KSA, Israel, Iran and Turkey are still there playing their own cards. There is no free reign given to Putin.
