@Black Barbie - I didn't mean to wholesale insult or over generalize your state, I was talking about the white people in comparison to my experiences. My baddddd if you took that as an insult or personal (sorry). I've lived in or adjacent to nothing but major cities so for me, it was culture shock.

I've been so busy with work, but @Indiglow Meta (R$G) I'm from WV, but currently live in Cali. Anyways you really don't have a lot to worry about living in WV, for the most part @String Bell Wheeling isn't bad, it's one of our "major cities" in WV, if you were in the any of the following I'd be concerned and tell you not to take the job, Ripley, Hurricane, Sissonville, and Winfield.
@Nicole0416 no biggie, I get it a lot when people ask me about my home state. There's this huge misconception about WV, that there aren't any black people in WV or if we are we're huddled in fear. Not true. Honestly some of my best memories are from being in WV.
Oh yea @String Bell, don't let nobody stop you from going. I think if more people went and seen for themselves then we wouldn't have people bouncing the same stereotypes around in an echo chamber. Are people poor in WV? Yea. We can be very friendly tho. We also have some black history there too. Remember to apply the same rules in terms of safety that you use in the big city to WV, just because it's a small state doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
