If you were a wrestling fan in the early 90's and even before, you remember dedicated jobbers.

Barry Horrorwitz, Dale Wolf :wow:, Brooklyn Brawler, etc

WCW had them too if I recall, but once the Nitro era started and they became "Where the Big Boys Play", they pretty much dropped the jobbers matches. Then WWF followed suit.

The point is, those jobbers helped lower-mid card guys to get over w/ the fans. The Koko B Wares, Duggans, Brutus Beefcakes, etc. These guys ALWAYS got pops when they came out b/c they were winners. Now at a PPV they'd sometimes/often lose their matches, but the fans had been "trained" to cheer them b/c they were winners more often than not.

I just watched Titus O'Neil on SD lose TWICE in a span of 30-secs to Adam Rose.
Titus O'Neil has become a jobber, his career & hopes of getting a legit push that fans would take seriously is basically dead. He and several others are in this boat when their talent, mic skills etc could have them way more over with the fans and at least be booked on PPV's in angles ppl remotely are interested in.
