At this point as far as wrestling games are concern they pretty much ran out of ideas. Using the concept of "The Attitude Era" and "30 Years of Wrestlemania" were the last things they could have done storywise. At this point I want them to have the next WWE 2K15 to be at least 100 playable guys... 50 from WWE from past to present and 50 from WCW past to present, everyone has their own movesets, and just have at it.
As far as storylines are concern they can go the route of "What If....? Scenarios and let the players play out weird moments like:
*What if Bret Hart beaten HBK at Survivor Series?
*What if Jake Roberts won King of the Ring instead of Austin?
*What if WCW won the Monday Night Wars?
*What if Flair vs Hoegan would have happened at Wrestlemania 8?
*What if DDP been the one that beaten Goldberg and his streak at Halloween Havoc?
and etc...
You can throw in ECW wrestlers as DLC and have a proper soundtrack not just using the wrestlers themes in the background... will 2K give us what THQ and Yukes failed to do over the years?

an overhaul of the mechanics and we
but see...that Wrestlemania mode is something that should have been saved for next gen...would have made it that much more special.
