People I went to school with still remember how much of a Shyne fan I was. I had every single unreleased track and followed the court cases in class, telling anyone who would listen about the prosecutor (Matthew Bogdanos) who is stilla heavy hitter in the Manhattan DA's office, and Murray Richman, Shyne's, lawyer, and of course Puff's team. What a fascinating time. I would love to see a real in depth look at that. Shyne was in court wearing Gucci's out on bail on a attempt murder, running around with Jennifer Lopez and Puff at 19 years old.
That event really was the end of the 90's era of rap, I think, it all changed after that. It was never as glamorous or as dangerous, that was like the A List Oscar moments of rap's 90's era.
