OG's career has been riddled with injuries college included. They are ONE year apart (you bring that age argument in the ceiling convo and as if OG is a 30 year old). You seem to automatically think that im referring to age Tatum has had more experience in terms of NBA games and definitely playoff games and the luxury of playing with Kyrie and repeatedly crowned as the team going to the Finals from the East and yet has not made an all star team or has had any notable individual (rookie doesnt count) or collective awards.

OG doesnt have to create his shot because he doesnt have to Kyle is on his way out next year as a primarily ball handler and pascal has taken the All Star leap this year. In the next few years it wull be OG and Pascal's team.

Tatum had it made the past two years and didnt win any significant or individual awards being fully healthy and having a Finaks winning point guard

Dawg :russ: you can edit this.... Kyrie sabotaged the young guys. Defensive liability that quit on the playoffs.

Lmao at this really being a question...

People are bringing up age like Tatum ain't been hoping his whole life compared to Siakam. More importantly, in NBA years they are essentially the same age--->Siakam in Year 4, Tatum in Year 3...

This ain't a real question. Pascal has All-Time potential and is already Top 15, and will be a Top 10 player for many years to come...

Tatum dont have that kinda ceiling for all the hype he came in with, and still isn't the best player on his team. He'll be a good player for a long time, that's about it...

Siakam is 24

Tatum is 21

"Bu bu bu bu they both been in the same time". Sorry, that's grasping for straws :yeshrug:

Siakam also doesn't have to share the offensive load with 3 other players that can score 20 ppg

There's different ways of looking at this...

Pascal wasn't the main guy until this season, he's had to share the rock every other year...

He's in Year 4, Tatum is Year 3, I mean in NBA years the experience gap is negligible; in actual basketball years, Tatum is far more seasoned. So it's a wash to me, and it Tatum is as good as people said he was, we'd start to see him assert more dominance this year. There are no generational talents on the Celtics, he's sharing the rock with Hayward, Kemba, and Jaylen Brown. Pascal was a role player his first two years and became a #2 last year deferring to a generational talent (Kawhi)...

Tatum hasn't even yet showed he can be the distinct #2 on a team with Hayward, Kemba, and Jaylon. Dont tell me about experience, he's in Year 3, same as Pascal was last year, if he's that guy we should see a substantial jump this season...

Time will tell but I dont think Tatum is the guy everybody wants him to be. He's gonna be a good player for a good while. He's not gonna be much greater than that...

You're overrating and over-highlighting how "seasoned" Tatum is to give Siakam the underdog angle to show he's better

I don't need an angle, the proof is there on a nightly basis to show Pascal is better...

So the question really isn't "who's better", its asking really if you think both have the same potential/ceiling, since they both young...

It's only a question because a certain segment on here are Tatum apologists and don't want to give Siakam his due. Again, if Tatum is the guy you guys say he is, this is the year we're gonna start to see him move the needle----->he's playing with Gordon Hayward, Kemba Walker, Jaylon Brown. None of those guys are generational talents...

If he's that guy, by the end of this year we should see the beginnings of that leap into more of a leadership role and on court dominance, these aren't three guys a great player or soon-to-be-great player can't usurp in the pecking order...

What makes you think this when he hasn't displayed the ability to consistently create his own shot? His #1 role on offense is literally spotting-up; I can't possibly fathom how you think he's got a higher ceiling. It even makes less sense when you take into account Tatum is younger yet has proven he can do nearly everything on the offensive end.

How could you possibly think OG has the higher ceiling when he's older and hasn't shown 1/100th of what Tatum has on offense?
Because OG sees the game really well. If he works hard he gonna be a great player. He’s already a top defender and very efficient in his current offensive role and is emerging as a playmaker in the Raptors offence. Give it about 3 years and he will have all star potential at the very least imo.

So Tatum needs to be a superstar at 21 even though Siakam was playing for an irrelevant mid major at the same age and didn't become a full-time starter in the NBA until he was 24 :skip:
