Didn't read any of that. And you look foolish defending that hate symbol as a black person even though you're entitled to your opinion.

The moment you start caping for white supremacists, white nationalists, and hate groups is the moment you lose me.

:camby:
Youre asking people to sign a petition to make a law that is unconstitutional. He isn't caping for white supremacists he just can form coherent thoughts and went to high school.

While it sounds good, the first amendment alone will keep it from being banned. If they won't ban KKK and neo Nazis from assembling in public, then they def won't ban the flag

If you don't like the 1st Amendment just say you want to get rid of the 1st Amendment. :francis:
  • It's simple, because that is what you are saying, when you're in the U.S. and say "outlaw a symbol".
  • I'm talking about the concept of the 1st Amendment, not a specific symbol.
The 1st Amendment is the only reason we can sit on this board and say the things we do.

Again, someone could just as easy say Afro-centric symbols are anti-American and need to be "oulawed" as in make it a criminal offense.

This type forum is not allowed for people in many countries. You go to jail for your thoughts.

Think about what you are suggesting and the pandora box it opens up, breh.

Emotion can fuel you, but let rationality navigate you mayne.

Oh yeah? Just as easy huh? When was the Afro-American Civil War against the United States of America?

@Unknown Poster there is some nuance to this though. I hate this poster's argument but we can't restrict the display of the confederate flags by private citizens. That said, I'm still going to sign the position because, yeah...I believe in negotiating hard.

What I WOULD be in favor of that I think the Federal government would have every right to do / enforce, is say that no entity receiving US federal taxpayer funds can have Confederate iconography (flags, statues, etc.) publicly visible on their grounds.

That means no stars and bars on state flags. No confederate monuments at statehouses, etc. They can keep them if they want to but they will not get a dime from the US taxpayer.
