Big Paak fan but this project is too on the nose/retro for my taste. I love old school music but you could put your own spin on it and not just hit all the signifiers

What does this mean?

Kinda feels karaoke-ish at times. I'd rather just skip the middleman and listen to old Gamble and Huff stuff

How is this karaoke?

Bruno is too much of a copycat I know exactly what the source material is every time.....he is talented but theres always a twinge of corniness in his music

What songs are these songs copied from? Be advised, you're using the word "copy".

I think what people are missing about this record is it is firmly Pop music. They are aiming this at the top of the charts. They are not trying to make some niche R&B/Soul record like Paak normally does. They are using that style but making it more accessible so they can sell tons of Records like Bruno does.

Bruno Mars is a glorified cover band. He just happens to be really good at it. Even if you fukk with his music, like this album...he's never going to escape that critique until he finds his own lane again.

Parody is the wrong word, it's more karaoke.

All the criticisms of this album x 1000 are how I feel. 3rd brick in a row for Paak. Bruno Mars is a cornball scourge. Not 1 redeemable moment of music on this. NxWorries can't happen quick enough.
