I thought Doc Rivers would give us a little bit of insight with his commentating.
I doubt breh gets too in-depth about anything since I'm sure he's looking to coach again :unimpressed: I definitely feel x's and o's commentary can be touched on in a more detailed way during the game, but the notion that the average NBA viewer is seeking Zach Lowe-esque breakdowns during the telecast is laughable. That's a niche demographic and there are a multitude of outlets for those seeking that type of analysis to enjoy readily available.

There's plenty of talented content creators doing this work for free on Youtube for the sport. Shouldn't be too hard to infuse more detailed analysis if it's an initiative from the top

:manny:

Facts, there’s literally a talent pool they can tap into and it probably wouldn’t break the bank as much.

NBA online content should be the best of all the major leagues but it feels like they’ve ignored all the resources at their fingertips.

"drip to hard don't stand too close, you gon' mess around and drown off this wave.......SPLASH! Harden nails the 3. Then, the very next Clippers possession, he goes mc Hammer with can't touch this, crossing up and embarrassing his defender like he was young buck on the phone being recorded"

NBA coverage is goofy as fukk, from the halftime "analysis to the sprtscenters and NBA TV"

Even college commentators does a better job covering the Xs and Os

Nobody trying to hear all that hard-core x's & o's breakdown during the game. Save that for the postgame.

The NBA is in a sad spot when it’s being said that “nobody cares about understanding how the game is being played”. Yet somehow the most popular sport in this country, football, has found a way to strike a balance with both entertainment and breakdowns.

Of the big 4 sports, NBA coverage and broadcast is by far the worst. And it’s not getting any better.

Silver and Klutch media are responsible for the current media landscape. The effort to pump up Lebron by ignoring or discounting previous players’ accomplishments forced analysts who are former players or coaches pushback on trash narratives. It’s a civil war.

Then you have the force feeding of certain commentators who don’t know what they’re talking about. Also a result of Silver’s NBA.

And let’s be honest, the product (also a result of Silver) is garbage. What in depth analysis do you need when you’re watching the same play over and over? I can flip through League Pass and watch damn near every team running the same actions. If it’s boring for viewers, how do you think the analysts and media feel?

I agree

For example, we need to analyze why Mitchell Robinson is still the EXACT same player he was when he got drafted...
