It seems like Silver is gonna be the commish for the next 20-30 years barring anything happening to him. So here's my short term and long term goals for the commish

Short Term Goals 1-5 years
1. Change season start date. Start the season on Christmas day and play 82 game schedule. Work out the logistics with teams, ownerships, players other events etc.. ASB in April (this way it can be anywhere since the weather will be nicer and it be a disaster like it was in toronto a few years ago. Playoffs begin in late may and run until August.

2. Revamp the 3pt shootout. Introduce the legends vs the current 3pt shootout competition. Bring back people like ray allen, reggie, kerr, legler, etc.. to compete against curry, korver, klay etc.. Make the competition split screen like it was before. The winner is crowned the best shooter in the world and the prize is 3 million dollars.

3. Revamp the dunk contest. Introduce the top 4 people in TNT's dunk king to compete against the 4 best dunkers in the NBA. Winner get's 5 million dollars and title the best dunker in the world.

4. Revamp all star game. The top 2 vote getters select from a pool of 40 players (chosen by fans and coaches) for their squads. Each squad consist of 12 players. The top 2 vote getters also select the coach (but they cannot select their own coach)

5. Add NBA's 1 on 1 challenge to allstar weekend replacing the skills challenge. 10 NBA players play 1 on 1 single elimination tournament style up to 11 points (1's and 2's) with an NBA ref calling each game. The winner get's 5 million dollars

6. Change playoff scheduling and home court advantage. Bring back nba on tbs and have them simulcast with tnt on playoff games like the old days. No more 3 day layoffs for teams in the playoffs. Each game is 1 day off unless your traveling to a different stadium. Also the lower seeds get the first 2 games at their home court, the higher seed get's the next 2 games at their place, then go back and forth with the higher seed getting game 7 at their house.

Long term goals (10+ years)

1. Contract the following teams
bucks. hornets, raptors, hawks, magic, kings, t wolves, pelicans, grizzlies, and pistons. This will make a 20 team league.

2. move the thunder back to seattle

3. move the clippers to las vegas

4. With a 20 team league, the regular season is 78 games (each team plays the other 4 times a year).

5. No more than 3 games a week for any team. (WIth a 78 game regular season this is no problem)

6. no more eastern or western conference just 1 league with 20 teams.

7. playoffs remain with 8 teams out of 20 making it.

8. the top 3 seeds select the teams they want in round 1 with the highest seed selecting their opponent.

9. First round shifts back to 5 games.

10. With the exception of the 1st round, all playoff series are 2-3-2 format.

11. Increase roster spots from 15 to 18

The NBA would do well to add 120 games. That way they bench could be as critical as the starting five long term but you need the G-league to really become a feeder league at that point.

I disagree with this especially. That season was the birth of basketball being a year round sport instead of vanishing for a few months. That was the first year everyone began following the various players as they popped up in various rec leagues and games around the country. All those Dyckman, Rucker, and Drew League games where like 3-4 NBA players would show up and be on either side going at each other was must watch. It made the hype for the league coming back just that much greater.
Durant at the Rucker :wow:Legendary.

That’s not a product of the schedule. It’s a product of a general lack of competition (and more gamesmanship)

If that’s the case, why can’t the first round be a best of 3. Did we really need a 4 game sweep when the Warriors played the Blazers?

Anything to help LeBron maintain his all time status :mjlol:, knowing damn well if the amount of games changed Bron would eventually own a bunch of all time records that wouldn't be touched in the future cause of less games smh. Leave that shyt the fukk alone Silver before I beat yo ass boy.

I'm not saying he is trying to help Bron directly though :hubie:

breh...remove lebron's phallus from your brain

I've always been of the belief that less games would let the league as a whole grow even more. Right now if you're an NBA junkie and you're the type that wants to watch every team of your game it doesn't leave you much time to watch other teams. If teams had 20 or 30 less games then that'd leave more times for people to watch teams outside of their own and become fans of more players on other teams. Plus theoretically with less games players would go hard more often. Quality of play should go up.

@Gil Scott-Heroin told me it was possible to watch 75% of every teams games. :mjlol:

There's no way you can have teams in Europe or Asia unless you had an entire division over there. They'd basically have to merge with the Euroleague, combine leagues and players to make it work.

To be honest, that'd be a pretty cool concept. :jbhmm:
