I c/s this. I don't think Redskins is meant to be taken in a racist manner, but what the hell do I know. However, it's pretty obvious to see how it can be taken as a racist insult. I think my first point about not caring mostly has to do with us hearing "Redskins" on sports TV and reading it in the paper since we were kids.
But "Skins" sounds OKa lot of people already abbreviate it that way anyway.
