Gotta be Biggie, but it seems trendy for some to diss L now, L was a great talent, problem was we got 1 album and a scraped together joint and some songs and verses here and there. Not enough to put him above Big who had 2 full albums, 1 being double disc and mad other ish. So I pick Big for a number of reasons but L was a great lyricist, dope flow, ill punchlines, wit, some dope concept records too, he was ill and a legend to me, he just never got to fulfill all his potential unfortunately cause he had like 1 solo album, which was dope and showed his skill but it was an introduction to what could do, Big for example right out the gate came out with pretty much a concept album with some extremely high quality concept records and ish on there. Respect and R.I.P to both of them.

Big L was just a punchline rapper for the most part. You can tell he was trying to do a little more on The Big Picture (Ebonics, The Heist, Casualties of a Dice Game), but we all know what happened. I don't think he was even close to reaching his full potential. Biggie was more well rounded based on the material they left behind. Ready to Die and Life After Death are better than both of L's albums.

what about Street Struck???

and I think Lifestyles is better than Ready to Die and way better than LAD. LAD would've been a great single disc album.
