I was but I guess you weren't. Cause if you did, you'd know kobe rolled his ankle at the start of game 2 (only played 9 minutes and scored 2 points). He then missed game 3 (which the Lakers lost). Then he came back in game 4 with a gimpy ankle and scored 28pts (including the go-ahead basket in OT), leading the Lakers to victory after Shaq fouled out and 3-1 series lead. If the Lakers had lost game 4 and the series tied 2-2, we might have been talking about the Pacers as world champs. That was his career defining game and his coming out party as a SUPERSTAR.
Take out game 2 (which he only played 9 minutes), and he averaged 19ppg in 2000 (as a 21 year old) on a severely sprained ankle that he could barely walk on. If you wanna attack Kobe's finals performances, that would be the last one. He singly-handedly won them the deciding game 4 on a messed up ankle. IMO 2004 and 2008 were Kobe's only 2 bad finals performances. I thought you'd cite those.
