What does go unnoticed, even by me at first glance, is the fact that Kobe got to play with Rodman, Harper, and Grant, players that were heavily instrumental in the success of Michael Jordan, the player Kobe emulated. When these observations are combined with the fact that Phil Jackson was all five of the aforementioned players' coach, one can clearly see Kobe also had better coaching and simply belonged to a franchise with better management.

Kobe is, was, and always will be dope, but he ain't better than Lebron.

horace grant one year when he was 38.

rodman played 23 games with kobe when he was 37.

Glen Rice was only there for 2 years, again after he was 30.

Gary Payton? One year, 35.

Kobe and LeBron are two different types of players. Kobe's focus was on scoring and LeBron's was passing and making his teammates better. Kobe has played on better teams than LeBron, but LeBron has done more with less. Although Kobe has more rings, I think history will be more kind to LeBron because of his likeable personality, willingness to pass and his freak of nature athletic dominance for a decade plus.
