A 'strong, masculine, WHITE' man as lead. Had it been a Black man (or non-white man) the conservatives wouldn't have liked it or watched it. The right loved it for that reason alone - white men being portrayed as masculine heroes.
Also, movies have always been politicized. One of the first ever movies, "Birth of a Nation", was a political movie depicting Black men as feverish rapists in the blackface portrayal of Gus, the Renegade.
No movie is "just a fukking movie" as there are always certain political agendas behind them.

Unfortunately, this was true, but I don't know if they should be considered Liberal's, they are more like environmental zealots. Prior to the Russia and Ukraine War, there were many Liberal environmental zealots pushing for gas prices to raise to discourage people from using gas powered cars. Not giving a fukk about what effect this method of doing things would have on poor people.

Conservatives look for things to be mad about. Anything that strays from tradition is considered left for them. They had a meltdown about Cracker Barrel having plant based sausage, despite the pork sausage still being available.

The whole, "it's always been this way" argument doesn't work. It's more extreme and harmful now. There was a youtuber who rated the last Batman movie poorly because "there's too many black people". I've never heard anyone boldly say some shyt like that before in the past. If they thought it they atleast has the sense to keep it to themselves.
When a big movie came out normal people talked about how much they liked or disliked the movie, their favorite scenes, etc. Folks don't talk like that anymore. They have to awkwardly inject politics into the discussion when it's obviously not needed. The politicization, although it may have existed in the past, is just more extreme and more noticeable now.

That’s the thing though, the imaginary “the left hated it”, that movie did stupid numbers, and every single review I saw said it was a great movie, the “right” made this narrative that never existed that people on the left hated it, while if you look at the numbers it did, and the reviews, it was clearly universally loved. This imaginary ridiculous bullshyt that the right creates out of whole cloth ends up building steam until their narratives become fact. It is a technique used to pull on the heartstrings of a-political or people that just can’t be bothered with that shyt because they are too busy trying to survive, to make the left look “crazy”, and it works. All the right has is culture wars, and they are only successful through complete lies, and imaginary outrage. Right now, they are putting Dr’s lives in danger based on a 100% fukking lie that these hospitals are performing gender reassignment surgeries on kids, while if anyone just opened up google.com, they would see that it’s a fukking 100% lie. Probably because electric cars and their features will be used by the state to have greater control over vehicles in the future.
