why? Because it's Rakim it's impossible that he might have been offbeat? Or that some aspects of his style were amazing, and others not as good?
I'm not even saying that he was 100% offbeat. I'm just saying I love the abstract nature of his rhymes, but not so much the flow. When he's riding a beat, he sounds incredible. When he's going off on a more abstract fast flow, he's cool but not as interesting.
