You joined this year so compared to what's out there, you'll definitely like this community as opposed to say Reddit.

However, for someone that lurked for a year before joining in 2016, I can definitely tell you this place ain't the same.

1. The maintenance of the site has fallen by the wayside IMO.
2. TLR isn't as engaging, funny or entertaining as before. A lot of bitterness and a lot of rehashed topics. TLR when I first learned of the Coli had JOKES for days.
3. There's a missing element of healthy dialogue and debate. Once you disagree with someone it's c00n or cac. I honestly think this isn't exclusive to the Coli though, this is just in general. People feel an attack on their viewpoint is an attack on them.
4. A lot of female posters got ran off. It's always nice to have perspective from the other gender.

Those are my main gripes with the site, but they can all be fixed. Last I checked, this site was worth like $150K - $200K.

If I had the cash I'd buy the site and make a few updates

1. Get a dedicated mobile app that's properly functioning.
2. Have mods that get a slight monetary benefit for actually keeping things on top
3. Open up registration (temporarily) and incentivize people to recommend their friends join.

This place had two bad foundations:

1. Letting toxic behavior thrive "for fukkery" reasons, even at the expense of substance. Akin to the inmates running the asylum.
2. Being under the guise that the forum would still be held by its owners and transparency be the way forwards.

#1 really nukes the forum quality, and #2 just ensures nothing will be done because the way since has been mostly the other way.

Actually this place was MUCH more lenient in it's prime. The moderation has gotten much more strict as the years have gone on.

I won't comment on #2.

A change was evident once @cook abruptly waltzed away.. No reasonable explanation has been given and we're going on three years now. Considering he was the one who - correct me if I'm wrong - maintained the site, I thought a narrative would be offered to allay concerns about the site going forward..well, look where the fukk we at now.

Now here we are.. I'm getting redirects like a motherfukker, ads all over the place, groups have been MIA for YEARS likewise the home page with custom smileys the newest casualty. There's a software upgrade to Xenforo.. out RIGHT NOW that addresses the compatibility issues cook spoke about before he disappeared yet my thread on this has been rotting on the front page for weeks with no response.

Been fukking around on the net for a long time and seen some big ass sites fall off and it damn near follows the same script. I'd hate to see this site fall off but this trajectory the site is on doesn't instill confidence.
