They trying to do the smart thing. Rebuild the trenches and non-playmakers positions so that in 2-3 years we have a deep squad. The OL still a mess though, I have no clue how Brock is gonna survive with our RT, C and whoever is playing guard opposite of Puni
I think the left guard position will be an open competition between Petit-Frere (new addition), Spencer Burford and Ben Bartch. I think Bartch should win. I think he is an upgrade. The team thinks having Puni at year 2 will continue to improve and essentially make McKivitz better by proxy (though I disagree with this assessment McKivitz limitations are mostly physical).

I actually give some of the blame to our poor special teams coaching. That should have been sniffed out his rookie year. I also blame John Lynch for not only having drafted him that high but not realizing that we should have drafted a sharpshooter as opposed to a cannon as the bulk of our missed field goals were inside 45 yards. If we hadn't drafted him in the 3rd he'd cut already. How many key games (including a SB) does he need to cost us.
