Releasing Collins to pick up a worse and older and more injury prone player in Allen is weird. Allen is just as bad against the run as Collins, if not worse. And Allen will need to get paid too, and Collins has a 5m dead cap hit

while we not crazy about it most of us accept it and we know kyle aint trying to draft a qb high after that Lance disaster

and looking at qb market numbers...I heard Geno asking for 45m and Darnold for around 40 per so like Id much rather pay purdy extra 10 than have those guys.

if Purdy gets 50-53m per and team has an out after two or three years to cut him if he sucks it is what it is. they had a great chance to win it all while he was on a rookie contract and they couldnt...

Allen contract was good news imo. If he getting 55 per then we know Brock ain’t seeing that. Honestly just need them to structure it in a way that it allows us some flexibility while we deal with the dead money the next couple years.

Yeah, it makes no damn sense to me. I can see a case for Floyd but Collins is a head scratching move no matter what angle I try to go at it.
