Getting Mac Jones for peanuts is actually an incredibly saavy move. It does 3 things.

1) He can play at 75% of Purdy's level. Has a similar skill set and he has dozens of games as a starter.

2) We can use him as trade bait should we need extra picks.

3) Protects us in case the Brock Purdy negotiations start bleeding into OTAs, mini camps etc.
