he got 3 albums that most hip hop heads can all agree that they love 1 of of the 3 if not all and see as classics

shyt, me personally, i think even doc's da name was the shyt. redman finally got his just due and went platinum with that album too. not like that's important to me as a fan because it's always about the quality of the music first but it was nice to see redman get that recognition that most of his peers had gotten (from nas to biggie)

he even had a good album with def squad "el nino" in 98' and then him and meth came through with "blackout!"

from like 92' to i'll say 99', redman was the shyt and influenced a who's who of muthafukkas in hip hop from ludacris to eminem

so does he crack your top 5? top 10? top 15?

Doc's Da Name 2000 was ill but Muddy Waters was a better album by far.

Why do I feel like outside of how high Red really doesn't get that much credit in hip-hop now (from the public)? The bulk of his work was in the 90s and not really in the 00s so maybe that has something to do with it.

Red would have ate big for lunch.

Big was barely matching even with method in the styles era when the whut was recorded.
While Redman was coming off of rap's smooth goat instrumental of all time and the best skill output in the styles era on the remix to that same hof goat twelve inch, as well.
On the tonite's the night remix,....
Big had not even ramped yet, when red was arguably the best emcee of the styles era.
Plus, the best out of the crop of new talent for that era that big debuted in as well.
Red was getting albums,..
Big was allowed to be with puff.
After, puff got fired from mca.
Meaning mca saw no draw in big.
While, red for the time was making records on yo MTV countdown for most consecutive weeks for a debut artist to be number one, that predste big by two years release wise.

I hate threads like this. I respect red and he can spit. But biggie's been dead nearly 20 years and red was dropping albums two years prior to big,if he's on that level it would have shown by now. He wouldnt need threads like this to attempt to boost him where his talent couldnt take him.
