lupe would be the best possible influence for kanye right now.
kanye is living proof of how your social circle determines how you think. early in his career he was working with lupe, kweli, mos def and talib kweli. not just good rappers but really insightful people who i can imagine intellectually challenging ye. now hes just surrounded by idiots, yes men and self-absorbed people. his early music wasnt politically focused but when he did talk about politics on songs like crack music and never let me down he was a lot more coherent than he is now.
