That was a strong bar, especially for a young dude. This one might live on.

That said, I think some of ya'll are mistaking "long round" for "legendary round" That second round was not legendary. Legendary is the replay and discussion value of JC/Chilla, that shock value of Verb's third, the Hitman remix vs John John, and Magic's three rounds against Chilla. A legendary bar is shyt like The nerve of a nikka who's been knocked out and robbed before (@DEAD7) and Nitty's nose runnin' bar.

Lets not lower the bar for classic and legendary just because battles and bars aren't hitting that threshold often. They shouldn't. That's what makes them classics and legendaries.

I respect the viewpoint. I'm not sure if I've even thought about rounds of the year yet, but I sitting through his second didn't prompt the thought. It's not even about the direct/indirect or the struggle bars.. I think it was more about the length of the round and the bars that I didn't think were worth reacting to. As always, I'll let it sit for a while and rewatch in a week or so.

The battle was a chore for me to watch. I don't think I fault either battler, as they both turned in good work.

I try to ignore the crowd, but the constant stoppage really sucks the air out of the battle.

Foh y'all sleep Chess just had a legendary round I'm talking Lux vs Calicoe type shyt the end of his 3rd was crazy too he got the performance of the year and Saga did good too but Chess was too much for him this battle, crazy this kid only 18 he gonna be a problem best out his class by far

With all that said. Saga was dope here as well. He has nothing to be ashamed of. His first round was crazy. I actually gave Saga the first. Chess was just out of his mind this battle.

Yeah it's pretty clear that Chess is the most likely dude cooking now that may become a household name. To be 18 with that level of performance and breadth (and a pretty decent pen) might be the reason he becomes the first(?) legend of the new gen.

It would actually be a backstep for Chess. But I would LOVE to see Chess vs Ty Law. Just unorthodox punches landing every which way.

Luckilly Chess himself said he's a big fan of Ty Law and would love to battle him. Of course this was a year ago so he might think he's too big to battle Ty Law now.

Then again he still shows love to WGH which is commendable. Wavy went to URL and never went back to WGH.(Word was Chess vs Wavy was suppose to go down on WGH after Chess vs BC but Wavy was ducking)

-saga's angle for the 3rd didn't land for me, and didn't sound like the crowd was feeling it either. i liked his first, 2nd was good but Chess got rolling from that point on.
-saga is doing pretty well considering his approach to writing. that 'mild mannered' shyt usually gets drowned out in the URL.
-chess was about to puke again nikkas stepped back with the quickness. i doubt it happens again mid-battle, but he's gotta fix whatever issue is making him gag (nerves or breathing maybe?)

It's not nerves. He' just a VERY heavy smoker/drinker. Combine that with the fact he's yelling for 9 straight mins. Yea........
