Big stage battles are trash lately. It's why the PG's have been putting on better battles.

Funny how I don't see yall quoting them crazy Roc bars:patrice:

And who is spitting "overly complex bars" at SM4? Bar wise Surf had the best performance that night. Same "gun bars, aggression, and delivery" but it was put together at a way higher level than Roc's elementary material.

I thought he was great in the D Money battle and was impressive vs Ty Law:yeshrug:. Prez was unique when he first appeared. He has performance, can be very creative with bars but he's lazy like he's top tier already. The DNA battle really set him back.

:comeon:How many times have we said "so and so has bars needs to work on delivery?" Delivery should enhance/complement good material not gas a weak bar. Roc spit trash and the crowd went crazy. Wtf does that have to do with delivery? It's a biased crowd gassing him, period. Surf had delivery in the Hitman battle but the crowd only reacted when his bars called for it. There's a big difference.

:what:When will yall stop quoting this clown?

What trash bar did Roc say that had the crowd going crazy? Just because a line is simple doesn't make it trash. Y'all don't that too much. Anything that isn't some over the top complex bar isn't trash. Tay Roc sets up his bars lovely plus he's a great multi-syllabic rhymer. He's really underrated in that department for some reason, yet Verb is considered great at it, when the only difference is Verb spits faster when he does them.

Cabanaro Effect bar, Side Piece Bar, the whole Queens scheme with Corona and Rockaway, whole background bar, Can under the shirt, etc...again just hard bars.

"Don't call me complex or lyrical, I'm straight forward..."

Been preaching this for years breh. They don't hear u though!

Proud Hitman stan!! :blessed:

Are u really gonna sit here and act like Boom can deliver a line like Hitman?? :stopitslime:

If you can't understand the concept of "It's not what u say but how you say it" I can't help u breh!

Anyway tay roc got this 2-1. DNA got 2nd round. Dont see how anyone can judge it differently.

Tay Roc is weird. Every battle he has cringe worthy lines(dnanny???) But then in the same battle he'll have ground shaking haymakers that u forget all about the wack shyt. I don't even know how to call it. Tay Roc is just different. Like i can legit see Tay Roc fukking Calicoe up and that scares me. Lmao.

nikkas just change their minds all the time. Like I said earlier, Lux had waaaaaaaaaaaaay more complex bars than Mook, but not one single person will say he won. Know why? Because he got KILLED! If bars were the only thing that mattered then battle rapping would be irrelevant. How you say bars and deliver them is just as important. Tay Roc has the best delivery in the game. He makes everything sound hot. DNA did a good job, best DNA I've seen in a long time, but his delivery is weak, he's not believable and he has corny mannerisms. If Surf said the DNA lines against Tay Roc he probably would've won because Surf can deliver shyt like haymakers.

This! If yall got back to the hitman/surf thread when i was quoting twitter responses from the battle live. When i read surf (Holla Llyuh) Bar i was like "Here go surf again with the reach"

Then i actually saw the battle and heard it and was like . :damn: THAT shyt WAS CRAZY!

The way u say shyt means probably more then the bar itself. If bars are the only thing that matters then why aren't nikkas like nuborn top tier?? THIS nikka LOST TO SCO! :russ: "I will never wear that shirt with those boots :mjlol:"

You know what else is funny?? The same nikkas who are "bars over everything" Also are the same nikkas who hate "we go hard" with a passion. I dont get it. nikkas like Steams and Boom have bars. But yall hate them cause of how they act them out.

But then you also hate tay roc cause his shyt is "simple" Like what the fukk DO yall like?? :snoop:

See nikkas are saying DNA didn't deliver his bars well, but I disagree. I felt like DNA was handling business in the first two and the crowd was dead set on not liking the nikka. Roc is straight forward, but jesus christ his delivery is forced. His "haymakers" 75% of the time are only hard hitting because he says them with conviction. They are not special bars at all.

I have no problem saying some battle rappers lean on their delivery and aggression to make them elite. Roc's delivery wasn't enough this night to make me put aside the basicness of his bars and the lukewarm feel of his first two.

Did the battle need to pause over this? It has nothing to do with complexity it's bias.

:what:He got killed because his material was all over the place and his bars weren't hitting. What does complexity have to do with this? He killed Calicoe with "complex" bars. Same "complex" bars worked on Hollow and Miles right? We all know delivery is important but being 75% delivery, 25% bars :camby:. Like I said Surf had great bars vs Hitman AND his delivery was great. You can do both. Roc gotta step his bars up.

:duck:

You nikkas are like Fox News; polarize everything, never acknowledge a middle ground, or judge a situation on its own merit.

Roc's bars were weak = You want complex, lyrical miracle rap:skip:
I want better bars = you're bars over everything :skip:
Bars were too simple = you must love Steams and Ahdi:skip:

A battle rapper can have bars AND delivery. A simple bar CAN be great. It's all situational. Why did Holla lose to Surf? He ran out of bars and his delivery/performance couldn't save him. It's not bars over everything. Zone vs Goodz proved that. However, if two people have performance/delivery in relatively equal amounts then it comes down to bars.

Roc's bars aren't complex but they were better in the Clips rematch. This wasn't a good showing.

Everyone of ya'll sayin Roc's bars were light and gassed need to go rewatch that roc/jc :sas1:

:sas2:

He got busy in the 2nd, other then that the gas masks was in full effect like always lol. Before we discovered JC 1st was recycled ma' verdict still stands, he kicked Roc ass in the first and clearly took the 3rd. But, with it being recycled Roc got the 1st by default

Bars over everything guys won't really understand this ever and its the root of the argument :manny: They don't get how delivery and performance can make a line. If its not a complex bar they hate it. somethin like the "Shoot up your building and hope I hit a child" bars can never be a hard setup/line to them. If hitman says possibly the same line blackheart adonis says, whose more likely to shake the room? Hitman because he's gonna say it the right way and probably remix it :dead: And the hallelujah bar is a gret example, some of the same people were in the live updates thread calling it trash(I know I did) and then loving it when it came out on cam.:troll:Guess it doesn't matter how it was delivered huh:troll: Can't have it both ways.

Shot a child was a cold bar

The others I'll give you

Lux was not all over the place at all, the crowd just turned on him because his delivery was ass. His setups were convulted and his performance was terrible. His bars were way better and they were direct. They didn't hit because of DELIVERY of them. That's what we're saying about DNA and Tay. Ray's bars hit HARD. DNA's do not. DNA lines are better on paper and the lines that were delivered well and set up well he got a really good reaction. The ones he didn't they didn't react simple.
