Cassidy was doomed from the start.

His steady robotic flow combined with some generic punch lines got boring very fast
but goodz' copy cat bootleg loaded luxx flow isnt boring by now? see thats the problem. all these dudes are now supposed to sound alike. this is the key issue with this generation when it comes to music. there's this thing that says if you dont sound like the last guy you suck. thats insane. hiphop/rap, etc, is about being YOU and killing it while being You. not throwing in some hot lines sounding just like the last dude that did it well. why listen to you when i can pull up the old luxx tapes?

When you have to argue and convince people you won, it means you lost.

When you won, what's understood doesn't need to be explained.
that logic is correct when all things are equal. But thats not the case. Its old head cass vs youngins in a new era thinking their way is better, when it actually is super stale and formulaic. which is why goodz and pretty much most battle rappers of today SOUND THE SAME. in cass' era, everyone sounded different and if you didnt, you got ran over by someone better than you and that was that.

There is no way for an old head rapper even with MEAN bars to beat a new school rapper with decent bars in a venue full of mostly current era fans. They wont completely understand cass and appreciate him. and they will over appreciate a goodz rapper from this era.

i said it. and meant it. go back and pull up some luxx old issh and run that goodz vs cass back.

The moment i heard goodz first few lines i was like...awwwww here we go with the new era trying to sound like someone else. BE YOU. whether it works or not. I think thats almost as important as your bars.

i know. all you have to do is listen to that video response from him that was posted. well its actually an audio on youtube. the one i responded too above a few posts. Just listen to what he's saying. he's right. This new era doesnt even know what the issue is because they are all stuck in the issue. It's this thing due to the internet. The gift and the curse of us all being online and knowing whats hot all over the world in a matter of mins is lovely. when back in the day it would take years for the west the catchup with eastcoast trends. and it took the south 3more years. but the gift of that long waiting, is it made everyone in their own little bubble create their own wave. So once yall did run into people from other parts of the US or the globe everyone had their own style. Now, everyone sounds the same because you are getting instant new stuff from all over. so you can re-watch a few videos for a couple of days and bam you sound just like migos. you sound just like rapper A, singer B, battle rapper C.

and because of that shift. the crowd is stuck with ears that only like to hear what they just heard. To Cass' point in the interview. they will appreciate something different. but they have to be forced to Slow down and eat a steak. they are heavy on that cotton candy. they eating ice cream for dinner. You have to force them to eat that good pasta dish. and then ask them without anyone else around "How does that taste?"

They will answer "wow, that....wow. that was real good. like super good. I aint never had nothing like that before."

^^thats what Cass is saying. and its 100% true. because its deeper than battle rap. its a culture shift do to everyone being online together now vs in the past. Its' like its a beautiful thing that we're all ONE due to the connectivity. But its wack when its Art forms and every artist is either trying to paint the same picture or the few they aint are going thru hell to be a real ARTIST aka themselves and not like everyone else.

these youngins are too young to remember what happened to poetry slams. which this new battle rap without music actually is. especially the more they do all the extras outside of bars. its more performance than it is rapping. its basically poetry gun lines.

But thats not even the worse issue. the issue is what happened to poetry slams is whats happening to battle rapping. Its the reason i stopped going to those poetry slams and people thought i was crazy. "aww come on rapbeats... why you dont want to go to this poetry ...." i'm like naw i'm good. they've been copying every other dope poet's style from the past 5 years. It was getting super repetitive. The same is happening with battle rap.and now the perfomers are afraid to be different for fear the crowd wont accept it.
