WWE Smackdown Results *SPOILERS*
March 5, 2015

-Dolph Ziggler comes out and announces himself as a part of the Intercontinental championship ladder match at WrestleMania. He says Daniel Bryan is missing from the match, but Bad News Barrett cuts him off. Luke Harper attacks Ziggler from behind, and Dean Ambrose rushes out for a brawl. R-Truth steals the title while they’re all fighting and runs away with it.

(1) Tyson Kidd & Cesaro def. Los Matadores.

(2) Big Show def. Ryback with the KO Punch.

-The Bella Twins come out and talk trash about AJ Lee. Nikki says while AJ was at home resting, it was her “giving Divas a chance” as the champion. Paige and AJ came out together.

(3) AJ Lee def. Brie Bella.

-Daniel Bryan does a backstage promo wishing everyone luck in the ladder match at WrestleMania. He says he’s looking forward to see who wins the title. Bryan never says he’ll be competing; seems like they’re courting him for the match, not the other way around.

(4) The New Day def. The Miz & Damien Mizdow. Drama between the two again, leading to Mizdow leaving the ring.

-Roman Reigns does a pre-recorded promo about Brock Lesnar and WrestleMania.

(5) Rusev def. Jack Swagger. Curtis Axel cut an “Axelmania” promo and said he was coming for Rusev and the U.S. title.

(6) Dolph Ziggler & Dean Ambrose def. Luke Harper and Bad News Barrett. R-Truth is on commentary and Barrett goes after him. Another brawl breaks out between everyone and Truth lays out Harper. He tries to leave with the title, but Daniel Bryan walks out and takes the belt from him. He starts a “YES” chant but is attacked by Stardust, who takes the title and climbs the ladder and ends the show.

All that buildup with Stardust/Goldust and they gonna just throw Cody (and Goldust?) into the ladder match. Now the match is turning into nothing more than a mini-MITB 'we need to fit these guys on the card' match.

I was there tonight, Roman was super over. Curtis Axel is also really over. He's gonna get squashed by Rusev on Monday though. Brie is still terrible in ring and on the mic. Nikki is better off without her. And people legitimately hate Big Show. Dudes behind me were heated when he came out the second and third time. Wishing death on dude and shyt, it was crazy. Dark match was Ambrose, DB, and Roman vs Rollins, Big Show, and Bray, which was really random.

I like it too BUT it's getting too clustered now IMO.

It was okay with a few, but now they just throwing every mid-carder in it. It screams "We gotta get everyone on the card".

Would love to see Bryan win the IC title at Mania. If anybody can bring back prestige to the title it's him. Take it back to the days of the early 90's when it was the "workers championship". He may as well kill it and make the best of the shytty way that they've booked him and I'm sure he will. It's gonna make the higher ups look stupid when their IC champ is the most over in the entire company while their WWE world champ gets booed out the building on a nightly basis. If Bryan wasn't such a nice guy and a professional, we would probably see a similar situation with him like the one with Punk from last year, he's gotta feel slighted on the inside considering how over he is and he has EVERY right to be.

It's screams laziness and it seems to be the running theme around Mania every year with their mid card talent that could be main event talent but higher ups are too dumb to push them properly.

Lesnar vs Reigns

Taker vs Bray

Sting vs Trips

Bellas vs PG HLA

And pretty much everyone else in the Royal Rumble Quasi-sequel, and the Grand Theft IC Ladder Match! Either the ladder match contestants will be pulling double duty in the battle royal or NXT will have a presence.

Again, I like the feud and I honestly made a similar post to yours last week.

But now with the Stardust thing it just seems like they're throwing everyone in it with no logical explanation but "Ooh I want the belt!"

I just don't see why they didn't do Stardust vs Goldust after all that buildup. What does anything about their past two months have to do with them suddenly throwing their names in the ladder match...and that's even if Goldust is in it.

I'm happy they are making the IC title mean something, but it's lazy booking to just now throw all these midcarders randomly into the match. Some, like Stardust and Bryan, that make absolutely no sense.
