Wasn't there a news report a while back about Bryan wanting to bring relevancy back to the midcard titles? Since Cena is coming for the US title, a fourway rivalry between Ambrose, Bryan, Zilga and Barrett would definitely make the IC title look important again.
Pretty much. Barrett's already lost to the other participants outside of Ambrose, but they're running with the stolen belt story. Makes no sense having him lose to any of them again.
They seriously need to start their program with whoever they have DB facing at Mania by Monday tho. Time is running out.

No. That was entertaining. Austin was a ass kicking character that didn't back down and was booked correctly from the day the Bret feud started in 96. He had the whole system behind him. The guy who saved WM XXX is in a IC title feud? A guy who was much, much over than Undertaker was last year? It's insane.
So by my count they had: Sin Cara, Truth, Ambrose, Dolph and D-Bry pinned the IC Champion clean.... they gonna have a 6 Pack Challenge for the title at WrestleMania at this point.
The Ambrose-Barrett feud has been fine though.. and it has actually made the title seem important. Throwing more people in there just seems lazy cause they don't have anything else to do with them.

Not arguing that. I too think Bryan shouldn't be thrown into the picture as it makes no sense. I'm hoping this is a one-off episode thing or that it's somehow leading to Bryan-Ziggler.
The storyline itself I actually like (Dean stealing the IC belt-which has been done before so it's kind of refreshing that they are spicing it up by having other contenders steal it as well). I think that is actually doing *something* for the IC belt. The fact that a few of the wrestlers have poor booking behind their place in the storyline is another gripe altogether.
How did Daniel Bryan get over in the first place? It happened when he wasn't the focus and was in midcard shyt that led to everyone coming to the realization that he was the best in ring performer today. And that led to a huge backlash when he lost in record time to a company picked project like Cripple H's gym buddy at Mania 28. Let this play out. Bryan will be OK but not sure what it all entrails for Ambrose, Ziggler, or Barrett. And why does Barrett got to keep losing to get contenders?
You're giving creative way too much credit. When the fukk has the IC title ever mattered in this Cena era? They canned the title for awhile. And they build up challengers by having them beat the champion in non title matches. A formula they've been using since Shelton Benjamin was United States Champion for 8 months back in 2008.

Why does the IC Champ always lose non title matches for weeks straight?
