Smash carved it's own niche out after falling off and being tossed in the bushes, if you can't respect that your whole perspective is whack. 
Like I said before, it's not in the same realm as SF and games like that...but it's got it's own merit IMO, and it's still full of evolving competition.

I think Smash Bros might be the only game series that I legitimately hate. I despise that series.

You hate two of my most favorite games of all time. Persona 4 Golden AND smash? Holy shyt.
Mid/late-00's, before Brawl dropped. MLG dropped it in like 06 and not to many gamers were rocking with it. The last time it was at EVO before last year was 2007. After that it was falling off and wasn't getting nay major play by major tourneys. Was on some straight underground shyt. Wasn't until about 2-3 years ago that Smash saw an incredibly huge surge, and now it's the 3rd biggest game at EVO, doubling it's biggest tournament bracket. The community literally brought this game back after Brawl was such floaty asscheeks. If the new Smash is whack, nikkas will probably go back to this because the community is that dedicated.
And the game is 14 years old.
When EVO announced the line-up, Melee wasn't even mentioned, but the community made EVO respect their pimpin' 
Melee had more fukking viewers than league of Legends. Yall gon respect their pimpin'. Smash gon be back next year.

It actually pretty impressive how a game this old, manages to be so well balanced and playable. Is it as complex as Street Fighter, of course not but to make this game out to be Primal Rage or something is silly. Unlike Street fighter which needs to be rebalanced every so often. Nintendo seems to have got it right the 1st time. Respect the architects brehs.

Dude in the initial video showed strategy, but look at the area and scope of the whole thing in a damn fighting game. It should not be taken seriously at an event like EVO IMO.
