smash bros is basically just a nostalgic jerk off.

thats all fukkin nintendo relies on these days

:pacspit: offer me something with real depth nintendo

LMAO at nostalgic jerkoff. :heh: Funny and probably true. But the question i have is,

So what? Its fukking good gaming. Who gives a fukk if its not some technical monstrosity like street fighter.

What depth does it have?

I think its hiliarious that people actualy think SF4 is technical as some of these other fighters. Its literally probably the easiest fighter to play on a technical level. Only thing you need to learn are your 1 frames if your character has them and Os's. Other than that its complete cake and relies more on fundamentals and footsies than anything. Melee has execution that is not humanly possible. SF4 has absolutely nothing on that level. For you guys to claim it has 0 depth for a game people are consistently getting better in thats 13 years old, with ZERO revamps is silly on so many levels. It takes a update every year for SF to sort of get it right. And I hate hate hate nintendo and don't think they've made a classic since melee and are consistently trash so its no fanboy shyt from me.

If you can replicate that then I will concede to everything you are claiming.

the thing is smash bro fukkbois pretend that it is. thats exactly why they've been campaigning to get this shyt into EVO, which was created for real, technical fighters. smash wasn't originally designed to be competitive. its a party game. if you look deep enough into any game with decent mechanics you will find a modicum of depth. why isn't something like power stone at EVO if smash can get in there?

or better yet, here's a game I would directly compare to smash bros on a technical & conceptual level. its called J-stars victory vs and its a anime fighter. its basically the same concept: a party fighter relying on nostalgia, gathering up characters from classic shounen franchises to duke it out

J stars may actually have more depth than smash bros because it was actually designed with REAL combos in mind, instead of made up ones that smash fukkbois like to call 'combos'

why isn't J-stars at EVO? :pachaha:

Of course they get better when they had 10+ years to play it. I could show you a slowed down video of MvC that looks just as impressive.

so by this logic, how is melee not technical? You already said the vid is impressive and its obviously not easily replicated. Is that not what execution is?
Its just that other games have more levels to them tech/execution wise.

like what? you guys keep saying this but

A.Don't play melee
B.Don't play any fighters at a high level
C.Are failing to articulate what the levels of execution are
D.Are propping up SF as some sort of technical benchmark when it is easily the most lenient game out now

heres something, what to you signifies execution?

I don't want to act like I'm being condescending but I've gotten top 8/16 at numerous majors...I'd like to think I know what I'm talking about. All I see are a bunch of close minded brehs who are being elitist towards a game where they would get mauled in. Its incredibly confusing. I played melee competively in HS for years and to this day its still stuff in that game that is hard to do with thousands of hours of practice. And you telling me its easy because you can beat your trash friends with mashing the c stick? come on now.

Street Fighter snobs are up there with the worst...

its not even that...you go to any tourney and nikkas who actually play for real respect the hell out of melee. Its only the couch warriors who throw shade at this point...

Not talking about SF. But you really going to tell me that the execution harder then putting in work with Chun Li in UMvC3?
