Look at the coverage of Bonds vs McGuire. Bonds was blackballed (still wanted to play or manage) and yet McGuire still has a job. Please tell me what the difference is. They HAATTEE Bonds with a passion.

How about ARod vs Braun. They did relatively the same thing, however AROD was under threat of being BANNED for life?

T.O vs Brett Favre. Favre was an @sshole, pill-popper who did nothing to help his teammates (Rodgers), only cared about his stats and holding teams hostages. Yet T.O. who never has been in any trouble off the field, and was admittedly an @sshole, is seen in a VILLAIN role. Favre is seen as "just having fun out there" even though he is fukking up and being a destructive hillbilly on and off the field. I wonder why?

McGwire had to admit he took steroids before taking the job. Bonds is gonna do no such thing. The whole reason why Gary Anderson is still in jail is because Bonds refuses to admit he willingly took steroids.

Braun's been excoriated by the media. A-Rod is a repeat offender, and lied on multiple occasions that he never took PEDs.

You're not supposed to help your competition. Besides, Favre's other teammates loved playing with him. We know the deal with T.O. the locker room cancer.

Until he became a yankee, he never hung out with any latinos and only (and still only) dated white women. He hanged out with latinos on the yankees because those were the only players that would tolerate him. That's why I can't agree with this thread. A rod wants people like the OP to feel sympathy when he would deny him cold in the streets.
Aside from his choice in women, I don't really know who he hangs out with. Didn't he fukk around with Sofia Vergara??

I think it's at best speculative to say that someone is not "latino" or "black" enough when we don't know them personally. As far as I could tell, he's always said he's a proud Dominican and speaks the language well. That's more than I could say about a lot of "latinos" I see daily.

If you think Braun and Clemens are unscathed or have been left alone by the media, you're an idiot.
Even Mike and Mike mentioned this morning that Clemens has been giving a pass that Bonds and A-Rod haven't received...

I don't think they are the average coli member playing the race card...

c'mon breh, the cac media wanted to leave Clemens alone. Kinda like how they protected Favre even though dude had revealed himself to be selfish just like T.O.
Peyton gave the Colts an ultimatum and they found excuses for dude.

What was Peyton suppose 2 do honestly. They didn't want to him all that money coming off of 3 neck surgeries and were gonna draft luck regardless. It worked out for both sides at the end.

Can someone explain or define what a "pass" is?

Clemens hasn't put a uniform on in what, 8 years?

This thread, and the countless others like it, are why I fukking hate coming to this site. Literally hate. The whole race agenda that most of you try to push is so misguided and disgusting that I can't stand coming here anymore.

You should be grateful. If nikkas didn't come here to vent, rightly or wrongly, there'd probably be a lot more slapping of random white people in the streets :lolbron:.

Just ignore the obvious race threads if they bother u that much

Well he was given a pass from the criminal justice system that found Bonds guilty..

And thats not even counting the difference in reaction in public opinion and media that pro-black militants like Mike Golic has perceived and acknowledged..

So we're going back 8 years ago now. Which media members were defending Clemens use of steroids while going after Bonds?

Has David Ortiz gotten a "pass?"

1-(8 years?!?!) Clemens was aquitted on all charges in 2012..

2-Bob Costas, Steve Czaban, Lester Munson, Buster Olney

Even Congressman Tom Davis who asked for perjury charges to be brought against Clemens responded like such after the verdicts

Davis said, "I think he's gone through enough. We did the appropriate thing in referring it over to Justice. But hopefully this will put it behind him. He's a good citizen."

I mean with enemies like that, wtf do you need friends for?

I'm not gonna lie I eyeroll these threads too cuz it seems like people are in a rush to be the first one to make this basic, old observation on some "First post!" shyt...its still true tho.

I was listening to Czaban just yesterday on the way home and he was trying to create a brand new excuse for guys like Braun and even A-Rod. He said steroids "make them feel fresh" and help them get over the wear and tear of the regular season...but not like Barry Bonds cuz "he was using the hardcore stuff and turned himself into a freak". :stopitslime:

Fact is that even tho the game has been completely dirty and fraudulent for 25 years now Bonds is still the face of PED use and the "owner" of this scandal. Not Selig, not Jose Canseco, not Lance Armstrong. Barry Bonds....

If Ortiz has gotten this "pass" what exactly is the argument? Wouldn't tht mean each individual user is treated differently by the media regardless of background? I mean there have been plenty of journalists who have defended Bonds too.

There's nothing sympathetic about Bonds or A-Rod. They're asswipes as individuals. Barry is a notorious piece of shyt to other people - teammates, coaches, media, friends, foes - and this has been documented as far back as his college days. For fukk's sake, he tried to steal my nikka Gary Shefffield's personal chef. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA A-Rod is a lame piece of shyt too. I think in Barry's case a lot of black dudes I know want to pretend Barry wasn't a piece of shyt and blame white people for assassinating his character; a lot of Domincan dudes I know ride with A-Rod regardless of how much of a buffoon he shows himself to be at every step.

Now, with a lot of white dudes I encounter, I notice they want to pretend that Clemens going to trial proves he didn't get "a pass." And that's where I get scared about the potential for rational dialogue... We live in a culture that produces frequent and irrational character attacks on black athletes, often backed by skimpy evidence, or sometimes none at all. When it comes to black athletes, it's a legitimate talking point for sports personalities, columnists, and the producers and editors who okay their material to contemplate whether black players are poorly equipped to play point guard and quarterback because they come from fatherless homes. Blacks' leadership abilities are questioned because of... dancing before a game, or after a big play. The examples are really endless and it would be a waste of my time to catalogue them all here.

Now let's contrast that with Roger Clemens. A man who unapologetically loafed his way through the final years of his contract with the Red Sox, improbably enough acted as if he had an axe to grind with them, went to another team and returned to form immediately (confirmation either of previous laziness or performance enhancers - neither of which he was taken to task for outside of Boston), went to the reviled Yankees, headhunted, almost killed Mike Piazza, threw a sawed off piece of a bat at Piazza in the World Series (HE WASN'T EVEN THROWN OUT OF THE fukkING GAME, UNCANNY), made racist comments at a major press conference about Asians, retired, unretired, retired, unretired, keeping hundreds of thousands worth of parting gifts along the way, got paid absurd amounts and had special provisions in his contract that cut down his travel and allowed him to barely be around his teammates... the list could go on, and on, and on... AND YET... reporters and columnists lobbed him softballs until the end, wrote fawning profiles, called him old school and tough and a true competitor. It wasn't until they had no fukking choice whatsoever that the coverage changed. And that's what drives self-respecting non-whites to a state of frustrated insanity - whites seem incapable of maintaining a consistent definition of what makes a person a piece of shyt across racial boundaries.

I'll never forget watching Joe Buck's dweebish, sanctimonious ass grill Chad Johnson about his touchdown celebrations as if he'd murdered someone, then when he had Brett Favre - a complete piece of shyt - on immediately after, Buck essentially dropped to his knees to blow him.

When we watch obvious - and yes, unless you are militantly ignorant, it's really fukking obvious - pieces of shyt like Lance Armstrong, Roger Clemens, and Brett Favre celebrated and championed until there's such overwhelming evidence to the contrary that the media finally has to begin to tear them down a bit... It makes people ride that much harder for the Barry Bonds and A-Rods of the world. It's like the Charlie Weis situation at Notre Dame. The white media and general public makes excuses on top of excuses on top of excuses until there's no possible doubt left... and only then do they finally take their former hero to task. It's guilty until proven innocent for a lot of non-white athletes, and innocent even after proven guilty for a lot of prominent white athletes.

That Clemens wasn't treated with the same vitriolic attitude that Bonds and A-Rod have been...

That was the only point that Mike and Mike made.. Now however you want to come to the conclusion of why that is, would totally be up to you....

Maybe its because Clemens is a pitcher
Maybe its because Bonds is a big meanie
Maybe its because A-Rod dresses weird
Maybe its because Clemens is from Texas and people think its a cool place
Maybe its because Bonds is dark skinned
Maybe its because Clemens is fat
Maybe its because A-Rod speaks broken English
Maybe its because Clemens was kinder to media
Maybe its because Bonds chews blueberry Bubble Yum

Hell I don't know.. Pick whatever rationalization re-enforces the narrative of your life experience.. None of us will be proven right or wrong.. I was just relaying a basic observation..
