That is a damn shame what happened to that woman. That man needs to be taken away to someplace for the criminally insane. If he ever does become sane, he still needs to be charged with his crimes and suffer the punishments. Not gonna focus on the 2 dudes who ran. The 2nd guy could've done more but he could've ended up injured or dead.

I can only speak a little bit about this but I know ACS will definitely do what they can to support kids in foster care regardless of the crimes they commit. Their age and background definitely changes the context of the judgements. He was 14, probably had a terrible childhood. That probably was enough for him to only do like 7 years.

Think about this from another perspective. Youth is neglected/abused when super young. Taken away from parents. Floats from foster home to foster home. Group home. Etc. They have trauma, violent tendencies that means people don't want to keep them for long or adopt. By the time they're in their teens, the chance to find stability in the home is incredibly difficult.

Poor education, poor job prospects, unresolved anger. And of course a lot with mental issues out on the streets on their own. Sad.

Do all of them do shyt like this? Nah. Not excusing it but this shyt is pretty common.

He was yapping about the devil before the attack. This man isnt right in the head,childhood probably not a factor. Rule of thumb whenever you see someone talking to themselves on a bus or train. Move away, or clench your fist and be ready to attack.

And if they sustain injuries or possibly die themselves in that situation who's going to pay for their wounds/funeral? Who's going to take care of their family? Most posters in here would've reacted the same whether they belive it or not.

Edit: I grew up in NYC and have interfered in situations where I've seen innocent people being attacked. I jumped in on some dude who got knocked out before. The reality of it is I was the ONLY one who helped despite there being about 15 people around me. Most people aren't about it in real life . Especially not in NYC where we see wild shyt on a weekly basis.

The Italians in Howard beach barely use the train. Literally both stations at Howard beach and Cross Bay are usually empty of locals. Howard beach most people coming from the airport.
