ATL, but rasied in DMV
yeah but I think he's an under cover elitist, he was already in the passing range, now he has bred out. At least Tariq still hanging on to his 3/4 of blackness

People who breed out always like to go hard about being black(especially when they get older), when they've basically done a self genocide by dna of anything black about them.

There’s no such things asa uniform look between west and Central Africans, that point is insane there’s more genetic diversity in Africa than anywhere in the world.

There's a ton of genetic diversity in the villages, u don't have to look far

The Irish weren't "White" until the 19th century so, no, that's not how America works.
They’ve been “White” since and we’re in the 21st century now, that’s exactly how America works. Let’s keep it a buck, a lot of folks are about to celebrate St. Patrick’s day with zero issue and they’re not even Irish. A lot of them won’t even be “White”.

Black immigrants came late 20th century and it’s blown y’all’s mind. I don’t get it but I’m saying… the idea of different ethnic groups being “lumped in” is not new or exclusive to us.
They don't look like any West or Central African group, so it makes sense that "Black" would be more appealing to them.

A dark-skinned Gullah or Geechee could probably find folks across the water that look EXACTLY like them. Not hating, totally understand why a thoroughly mixed Black American wouldn't identify as African.
That’s all I’m saying. I’m sure a lot of brehs cheering on the rhetoric would could find somebody that looks exactly like them too, so it’s not isolated to people like Smokey and Yvette, but you can’t help but think their phenotype plays a role in their views.

No, that's how "White Supremacy" works. Last I checked, that isn't limited to America.

"White People" are a 'class', not a 'race'.

I don't have a dog in this fight but I have noticed that a lot of black Americans who claim to be "indigenous to this land" tend to be of a certain hue or close to it:mjpls:

I never see anybody that looks like Dwyane wade or kevin hart or offset on that tip

:hubie: just my observation

I don’t like the term African American and just prefer American but.........

“I’ve been privileged enough to travel all around the world and have indeed traveled all around the world but have abstained from traveling to Africa.”

I don’t respect that.

Totally respect it. Africans sold our ancestors into slavery. That bond was broken and now our futures and fortunes have to come from the New World. Hell, most African Americans have some amount of European DNA.

Reparations from America and Apologies from Africa.

The term "African American" is a misnomer and wasn't widely used until the 80s thanks to Jesse Jackson.

IGBO HISTORY (IGBOS SINCE 3000BC) | HUNDREDS OF IGBO HAITIANS TRACE ANCESTRY TO IGBOLAND AFTER 422 YEARS

HUNDREDS OF IGBO HAITIANS TRACE ANCESTRY TO IGBOLAND AFTER 422 YEARS
Haitian Delegation in Enugu.

I am inexplicably happy that a delegation of Haitians are reportedly in Enugu at the moment to trace their Igbo roots.

I have read somewhere that many Haitians have Igbo roots and that nowhere is Igbo culture deeply embedded in all of South America as in Haiti. I also read about the Igbo presence in Jamaica. In fact, a certain Jamaican lady in Awka once told me that the first time she saw me, she stiffled a scream. I am a spitting image of her father back in Jamaica. She said it took her a while to believe that I was not her father.

I think I am fascinated by the decision of the Haitians to look into the dark tunnel of painful history. I think we should reciprocate this gesture by establishing robust cultural ties with Haiti and Jamaica. Some years ago, Chinua Achebe delivered a lecture to mark the 200 years anniversary of the end of the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade in Jamaica. It was historic. It was a great beginning that was never sustained.

This is not one of those ideas where everyone waits hands akimbo for the government. Igbo cultural groups like Ohaneze, Aka Ikenga and Mkpoko Igbo can lead this initiative.

Umu nnem, nno nu o!
May the spirits of our ancestors give you the light you seek.

A little history
-----------------------
The Igbo people are the earliest settlers of where became South of Nigeria. The evidence of the early settlement is revealed through the archeology at Igbo ukwu and other sites ,dating back to 8th century AD and beyond .The rising population led to an early spread to the fringes, making some easy prey to slave raiders in later years.

I don’t have an issue with being called African American since we didn’t come here voluntarily, so the “African” label should always be a reminder to those that forget that.

white folks don’t have to label themselves European American because they came and took the land and made it their own.

Semantical gibberish. "African-American" and "Black" are both false modern social constructs. Even the concept of an "African" in a modern geo-political sense is a construct originally created by the Portugese and Dutch.

Most African-American have E1B1A DNA, which traces us to West Africa, to Israel. Africans have E1B1B DNA. Look up Ron Dalton on You Tube. He's an expert in this area.

Ron Dalton is far from an "expert" on DNA. His methodology and some of his hypothesis and theories on DNA have all sorts of holes in them.

But you almost there. :smugbiden:

Check out Genesis 49ers and the Hebrew of Israel on youtube.

Their methodology and research is far more sound and in depth in showing the connection of E1b1a to proto-semetic and ancient Afro-Asiatic cultures.

I'll go even further, black is a CAC made designation to group all people of melanated pigment into a basic group.

There's no language called black, there's no country called black, there's no belief system called black, there's no race called black.

It's honestly as ridiculous as calling somebody of an Asian origin yellow. But because we've been so disassociated and cut off from our forefathers and our true history and told who we are that we go along with it.

Color is not a race. It's literally just a spectrum that the human eye perceives. A Puerto Rican and an Arab aren't the same. Just like a Japanese man and a Korean man aren't. They're differentiated by so many other things when you look a little deeper.
