yeah but I think he's an under cover elitist, he was already in the passing range, now he has bred out. At least Tariq still hanging on to his 3/4 of blackness

People who breed out always like to go hard about being black(especially when they get older), when they've basically done a self genocide by dna of anything black about them.

I have realized that you nikkaz is retarded...

:mjlol:

Like y'all brains must be filled with cotton candy or some shyt ...

This old nikka just said the dumb shyt. Borderline self hating ... But y'all in here saluting him and shyt ..

:snoop:

yeah, he's low key on the light skin creole privilege mindset

Would be different if Chuck Berry said something along these lines. Chuck Berry kept things officially black(aside from groupies, but that doesn't count).

ATL, but rasied in DMV
I totally get what you're saying but my point is exactly that of your second sentence. Nigerian, Ghanaian, Jamaican or whoever know where they came from specifically and can be called Nigerian-Americans like white people call themselves italian-americans or whatever. It's that for us who are descendants of the slave trade I feel we should be called African-Americans. It recognizes our heritage and African origins while also highlighting that the history of our lineage was hidden from us not allowing us to trace back to what country we originated from. Hope I'm conveying my thoughts clearly.
Most African-American have E1B1A DNA, which traces us to West Africa, to Israel. Africans have E1B1B DNA. Look up Ron Dalton on You Tube. He's an expert in this area.

I’m in the high 80’s as well, but what does this mean? Is this a stunt on other black americans?

It means that I'm more African, so calling me "African" isn't an insult. It sounds weird and overly formal when people say "African American" but I don't really mind if folks say it.

A lot of folks are 55%, 65% African with high Euro mixing (Quincy Jones, Henry Louis Gates etc). These dudes are obviously Black in the American sense but mixed too much to be called "African"....so light skinned/brown skinned Blacks might prefer Black as they can relate to that term more. A distinctly American cultural identity.

Why would we?

Africa is not our home continent, the Americas are.

Y’all are trying to attach yourself to us, not the other way around.

We used to feel sorry for y’all but never wanted to be you
.
:laff::laff:
The delusion of you nikkas is top notch lmao

Yup, thus referring to ourselves as 'Black' distinguishes us from other ethnicities in this country far more exactly than referring to our continental ancestry.

We need to objectively define 'Black', but too many people who ain't us think they know better than we do what that term means and to whom it applies.
All these Europeans came here and just got classified as "White", that's just how America works. Even Native Americans get "lumped in", as if the Quinault tribe in Washington State is anything like a Seminole in Florida. If you're not talking about the government, then your anger is misplaced.

And if this is as serious a concern as y'all make it seem, why not go back to 'Negro' or 'Freedmen'?

You're not wrong. People here are being very—and I mean VERY—intellectually disingenuous. There isn't a white group out here that doesn't refer to their ancestral hertiage. I'm from Chelsea, Mass so Italians were........ Italian. Even after decades and generations in this country, I rarely heard themselves refer themselves as Italian-Americans and that could go double for the Irish.

Cats from VA and other former 13 colonies know rich cacs can trace for linage back to the British Hamlet. George Washington is a good example.

From the Chi? Then you know where a Pollack is and where their from.

Upper Midwest? German culture permeates there.

Call yourself black instead of AA?

But I'm Zoed Up, Foes down so lemme shut my tether ass up. :sas2:

Yep...only white people down South go full "American" and that's because most of them were of English/Scottish/Welsh descent and came so long ago that they don't even know where their folks came from. A lot of white Southerners were British loyalists too :sas2:.

Northern whites mostly came later, especially in the big cities and they always know the Irish, Italian, Greek, Polish etc. stories of their fam.

Smokey is the homie so I don’t mean any ill will but I can’t help but notice that both he and Yvette Carnell (who made this rhetoric popular on the internet) have the exact same phenotype… Now Yvette I flat out don’t like, but I can understand why they would have difficulty accepting African American. Similar to the difficulty biracial kids have accepting “Black” or “White”

For what it’s worth, John Wayne was saying this decades ago. Glenn Beck, etc. Its actually been a very strong viewpoint for White Conservatives for a while now.

They don't look like any West or Central African group, so it makes sense that "Black" would be more appealing to them.

A dark-skinned Gullah or Geechee could probably find folks across the water that look EXACTLY like them. Not hating, totally understand why a thoroughly mixed Black American wouldn't identify as African.

YET I AINT NEVER
HEARD OTHER ENSLAVED nikkaS
CALL THEMSELVES
AN AFRICAN JAMAICAN,
AFRICAN HAITIAN, AFRICAN BELIZEAN
AFRICAN ETC.

Are those are cac countries created for and by cacs? Did cacs design those governments with the explict goal to undermine, cripple and oppress its African Descendants of Slaves?

Haiti, Jamaica and Belize belong to its people, from the bottom to the top. We don't own America, we just live in it. I mean we have to beg our nation's protectors to stop purposely jailing and killing us over the other groups. Who would someone genuinely claim a nation that does that to them?

However this does take away from the fact that we helped make it. Cacs simply do not care about our American contributions. So what difference does it make that we are Black American vs African American.

The Irish weren't "White" until the 19th century so, no, that's not how America works.

Agreed.

Black American is a cultural term.

White American is a political term.

The definition of Black has been consistent for a long time whereas white American keeps shifting as needed. Irish/Italians etc., didn't become white until it was politically expedient. The WASP numbers got small up north so they had to expand. Technically white included some North Africans based on how we do the census in America.

There’s no such things asa uniform look between west and Central Africans, that point is insane there’s more genetic diversity in Africa than anywhere in the world.
