The 50/50 is the point. I'm not typing a book but wrestlings constant oscillation between real life and fantasy is allegorical to real life. Nikkas do the same shyt everyday at even the most base levels, otherwise why are you King Static X on this bytch and not your real name?Yeah, but the WWE operates in basically an in-between (50% "real" and 50% fiction). Also, like I said, the WWE tries to keep up the kayfabe.
For me personally, I can really only watch something that is 100% fictional or 100% real (or close). The WWE is in a weird middle ground. I can't suspend my disbelief towards it. I don't see how an adult can be "entertained" by the WWE but whatever![]()
I didn't know that this was TSC at first, but whatever. Also, my main point was disputing the statement that watching wrestling is "the same" as watching regular TV shows and movies. Everyone can like what they like, but I believe that there's a difference. That's all I was saying. The 50/50 is the point. Wrestling is theater with the added extreme of physical exertion and risk. Watching a show where a person puts maximal physicality in their art is the appeal. It's like watching a concert where the artist put their all into delivering a great performance. Skin in the game will always appeal to humans on a primal level. So even though wrestling is predetermined the danger associated with the activity still resonates. Again, skin in the game
You don't have to like wrestling but the point of this thread is the smug fake smart nikkas being passive aggressive because they don't understand the appeal. This ain't a locker room thread brehYo ass is in TSC with this "I don't see how any adult can be into this shyt but whatever" shyt. The grown man naming himself after Static Shock with a Static Shock avatar
Coming into a space enforcing your standards for art is contentious enough, but doing it passive aggressively just makes you look like a coward. And in this particular case doing it with a comic book character name and avatar makes you look like a hypocrite
Right, and you can see the wrestling-fication of the world in so many different aspects of real life - social media, rap beefs, reality television, even politics. People putting on personas, airing each other out, publicity stunts. So much of showbiz is kayfabeThe 50/50 is the point. So then what the fukk is wrong with liking wrestling in comparison to stage play? The 50/50 shyt that you keep talking about is part of the draw. The interviews were they're still sorta in character are as much as part of the performance as the stuff in the arenas, and wrestling storylines often mix real life stuff into the conflict to give things greater steaks and intensity. It's not as hard to understand as you're making it seemI didn't know that this was TSC at first, but whatever. In my opinion, WWE wrestling is more like a violent stage play with some soap opera mixed in. Not like a regular TV show or movie.

I guess you're right. WWE wrestling just seems too goofy to me lol; that's probably the disconnect. So then what the fukk is wrong with liking wrestling in comparison to stage play?
