Snoop's been killin it this year. His verses on Compton and Documentary 2, BUSH, etc.

His flow and musical quality/output has never been an issue. My issue with Snoop is after the initial Death Row run, creativity-wise he started coasting in terms of being super-laid back Snoop and really stopped spitting the type of stuff that leaves the impression of an "emcee". His persona is bigger than his music so that's what he's more known for.

He's up the therapy. .mad talented and his freestyle dope. Problem is too many inconsistencies and joking around.

Snoop was headed to be one of the all time greats, but decided to switch his style up and do the laid back thing. I like a lot of his stuff after Doggystyle but I can't say he's been a great MC since then.

He's gotta be in your top 25 regardless, tho.

it's cause he's from the west. he'd be goat if he was from the east. nikkas over there still getting called goats off of shyt they did in the 90s, no matter :ld: their releases in the past 10 years have been.

rappers' primes don't last 10 years.

the problem with snoop is that he only has that ONE album that mattered.

theres no east coast goats that fit that description.

Huh? He has one of the best-selling hip-hop albums ever. Doggystyle is a top 5 album. He also had one of the best delivery/flows ever while being the Jay-Z of the west coast. nikka is loaded too.

Blue Carpet Treatment is a great album

yup, the blue carpet treatment was another good album
snoop really don't get enough credit for his catalog
the problem is he never had an album close to doggystyle again but even with that said, his catalog is still decent when judged on it's own merit

Yup I said it before. A big reason why the west coast "fell off" is because nikkas like Dre and Snoop set the bar HIGH for other rappers out the west to follow.
Whether nikkas want to admit it or not, when they hear new LA rappers, they wanna hear shyt on the same level as prime Dre, Snoop, Cube etc..
West Coast gets held to a higher standard in rap, maybe even moreso than NY

i agree with that
in the 90's, for hip hop across the board, the bar was set so high
i still remember the first time i had the chronic on tape :banderas:
