Snoop might be the only rapper who has two, hit, party songs that have transcended 3 generations

Everywhere...You never there.
thought this was gonna be one of the songs mentioned in the OP.

off top, trying to think of other contenders. :jbhmm:

Hammer - Can't Touch This, 2 Legit 2 To Quit

Naughty By Nature - Hip Hop Hooray, OPP

Biggie - Mo Money, Mo Problems, One More Chance?

TS needs to define generational ages tho? young teen = 13, parent = 28, grand parent = 53?

Those ages work (early teens, late 20s, 30s, early 40s), (mid 50s and up) ...

I’d remove BIG... I’d remove NBN... even though the songs are highly recognizable across generations, just Naughty’s (underrated) lyricism ain’t allowing too many to go word for word ... I don’t think the young teens messing with Hammer shyt across the board ...

LL might, might meet the criteria with Knock You Out, but I think it just sounds too dated for the young teens. I don’t think they’ve really checked for that .

Continue .

@Jimmy Two-Times™ nicca was trying to be contrarian and lookin foolish ...

Was just out recently and saw college freshman, late 20s, 30s and a few early 50s who were there singing Gin & Juice word for word ... shyt hit me like...:ohhh: ... this is what timeless and overall classic truly means. :wow:

Snoop came to NC about a year ago ... performed at one of Raleigh’s amphitheater ... I did business with a woman in her 50s... we were just chatting prior to a meeting and she said she went to that Snoop show and (white) parent me had their teens there with them and some people her age too, and nearly all of them were singing GnJ and GThang word for word .

yea.

LL has him beat if we REALLY wanna talk about hits transcending generations.

LL spans FOUR generations.

those were just regular ass hit records on the radio.

"drop it" was cool, but nothing to jump out the window over.
"beautiful" was your standard generic wack wannabe-jarule single of the times.

theyre not that old neither.

:comeon:

How many average people know and sing along to an LL Cool J song?

And I'm talking about 'Mama Said Knock You Out', 'Hey Lover', 'I'm Doing It', etc?

And I mean rapping the verses, not just knowing only the choruses

How many hits has LL had this decade, fukk it, this century?!

'Ill Bomb', 'Love U Better', 'Headsprung'?

:camby:

Don't just say shyt just to say shyt

The fact is they were all dancing and singing along.:yeshrug:

You can't really twist the truth when there's video evidence too.
Most of Them people just bouncing to the music cause its on. They would’ve did that to any music that was playing. I would bet money they couldn’t name one snoop dog album.

Yeah I had to remove LL too. Just not meeting the criteria .

And again I don’t think BIG, Naghty or Hammer meet it either ... they might be able to recite some of the choruses but no lyric recitation ... BIG would be the closest out of that group with Hypnotize and MoMoney... but still those songs didn’t hit with the soccer moms in suburbia like that enough at the time for them to be able to recite lyrics .

Originally, I thought this thread was saying he has 2 hit songs in 3 different generations. A lot of rappers have two hit songs that have transcended decades.
