That's because Pac wasn't aware of who Henchman was. He knew he was shady but he didn't fully grasp exactly who he was talking to.Pac had Death Row links but at the time of Quad shooting his team was Stretch and them plus maybe some Jersey people thru family (Outlawz) + Treach. I remember reading Russell Simmons’ book and Russ describes Henchman as someone gangsters with bodies were afraid of and Pac barked on Jimmy on the phone and tried to up his gun when he got stuck. I doubt he had a calculated move to go at Henchman and had plans to team up with Suge laid out when he reacted to Jimmy. Dude was just a livewire like that and truthfully went out as a livewire.
He did ... but he wouldn’t have stood a chance without suge/pirus .... what I laugh at tho which is hypocritical... wen majesty n homicide was on queensflip saying no one wanted it with the young gunz ... well they knew henchman n them had pac and Freddie nickels set up but didn’t do shyt about it ....Pac had Death Row links but at the time of Quad shooting his team was Stretch and them plus maybe some Jersey people thru family (Outlawz) + Treach. That was pacs problem .... he thought he could talk to /run up on anyone without thinking ov the consequences... he was a smart cat but acted on emotion....That's because Pac wasn't aware of who Henchman was. He knew he was shady but he didn't fully grasp exactly who he was talking to.
Thing about that is they were not moving smart enough for a war .... making all that noise and attention henchmen n them in the 90s was low-key .... n pac still didn’t have his money right at the time of his death ....Very possible and probably why Jimmy felt he had to “discipline” him and let him know who he’s fukking with. But then again, instead of falling back after getting shot up, Pac teamed up with Death Row, got his money up, and had every intention to go to war with Jimmy if we were to believe what he said on Against All Odds. Again not the wisest moves and in the end he got murdered for his wild ways but you gotta give Pac credit as far as not backing down. I kinda believe Pac had a death wish too though. I’m not saying Pac is this super gangster dude with no fear - more like dude was a tormented soul who had subconscious death wish that dealt with whatever confrontations came his way in a reckless way. Pac is my GOAT but it is what it is and he wouldn’t have made his classics if he was wired any other way around.
Jimmy Henchman was a very unassuming, mild-mannered type dude, so it's easy to think he was just some regular guy. Not realizing he was the most feared dude in Brooklyn. That was pacs problem .... he thought he could talk to /run up on anyone without thinking ov the consequences... he was a smart cat but acted on emotion....
Yeah I agree ... I think 50 started making jimmy get out ov character etc provoking..... ya yo and Lodi Mack were wrong as hell for slapping his son ... but Lodi paid with his life ...Who was more feared fresh henchman or Haitian jack ?? I always heard a debate on that .....Jimmy Henchman was a very unassuming, mild-mannered type dude, so it's easy to think he was just some regular guy. If anything n this has. Been debated time n time again by fellow coliheads suge for all his messy behaviour .... wasn’t the one who sped up the demise ov deathrow pac did n I firmly believe that to granted it would have fell -out sooner or later ........ along with getting too involved in piru politics .....That’s kind of a catch 22 situation - if Pac didn’t make noise he wouldn’t have sold as many records with All Eyez On Me as the controversy brought extra promo his way and contributed in getting his (or his team) money up.
And yeah Pac didn’t have a lot of money to his name at the time of his death but I do believe Suge would have acted on Pac’s behalf if things escalated. Suge’s character is messy but you could tell Suge had genuine love for him and Pac was generating a shyt ton of money for the label too. And although his downfall was quick, Suge did have a lot of power in the 90s so in theory it could’ve worked in Pac’s favor.
Hell nawNah Gully TV is that guy.. One of the best Street journalists..
