It's part of why teams don't even try to challenge him on defense, because they know if he can't get a help block he's not going to get engaged on the backside. So you attack Luka or Austin, then have whoever he's guarding crash the boards and cut

JJ tried to fix this last year in the little stint where he was the defensive"anchor" which forced him to be engaged, but obviously he can't sustain that energy level all game and will break down physically

He's literally a negative player so I wouldn't take him back for the minimum in his current role, now maybe if he is okay with playing 15/20 minutes a night that changes
