THe rebellion that started in 1791 in Haiti that resulted in them winning in 1804 wasnt the only rebellion that happened. but many of the prior ones got crushed by French and Spanish armies. Incorrect. Toussaint got some of his experience as a field general while with these armies. But none of them supported or helped the rebellion. THe United Kingdom themselves came back and shelled the fukk out of Cap-Haitien from their fleet just a few years later. 1845 i believe. Look it up. Thus why Henri Christophe thought it was essential to fortify the north as much as possible to defend against british and SPanish forces coming from the (now) dominican republic. THese forts still remain today
