i'm sure if it was up to him he wouldnt have taken any break but if you're familiar with his label issues he cant really do anything

i give him props for being quiet because any time i see him i get the feeling he's very unhappy with his situation and probably thought the Kendrick movement was gona be the TDE movement..

It's too bad Control System came before GKMC hit it big. And if Kendrick would have them all on even for a Black Hippy posse cut it would give the others some more shine. But even saying that I don't think Ab Soul would pop off the same way. He might have a Lupe type success and he could fukk around and have the biggest hit out of them all just just because of his style and what he rhymes about.

Having said all that I think These Days was not a good follow up to CS which is prob in my top 3 TDE album.

There's no way Ab was ever gonna be bigger than Kendrick.

I will say that if I was on TDE I'd be upset. Kendrick had the ball nonstop. Even when Jay Rock released his album Kendrick was still releasing videos and doing live performances on Colbert's show lol. Now Kendrick on Fallon and chilling at the White House and doing Grammy stuff.

Ab's last album was terrible tho.

I like Ab Soul, and was rooting for him but his last project just didnt make me bite. To this day I still havent heard it yet, and probably wont ever.. its just not on my radar. Part of his problem is his identity IMO. Is he conscious or is he a druggy with hoes? Not saying he has to be one or the other as we're all complex individuals. Still when it comes to albums there has to be some coherence, and after listening to his projects one feels mixed up. The promotion for his last project, or lack of promotion sent mixed signals like a chick who cant make up her mind. So I passed, and mixed reviews didnt help. Ab needs to be a hippie or otherwise.

What you said about being salty for being signed to TDE makes sense though. Jay Rock dropped a solid project that came and went and TDE should be ashamed of themselves. To be fair, Schoolboy has had some pretty damn good shine for the past couple of years.Still if I was Rock or Soul-O, I'd be be feeling some kind of way.

I think Ab is kind of unhappy he doesn't have the same shine as Kendrick from what I've read and heard. Which is crazy to me because I'd pick Schoolboy or Jay Rock to feel some type of way before Ab Soul.
