I think all of his effort went into that album because These Days felt rushed and didn't have the same cohesion or underlying theme as Control System. I know he said the concept of These Days is that he was "following the Control System" literally but that felt way too derivative.

He really should have followed up Flop Days with Long Term 3, but he got all high and mighty saying he'd only drop Long Term 3 when he was actually rich and successful to follow along with the progression of themes from Long Term and Long Term 2

I'm still in his corner, but his next album better be on the level of Control System or his mixtapes at the very least

It's too bad Control System came before GKMC hit it big. And if Kendrick would have them all on even for a Black Hippy posse cut it would give the others some more shine. But even saying that I don't think Ab Soul would pop off the same way. He might have a Lupe type success and he could fukk around and have the biggest hit out of them all just just because of his style and what he rhymes about.

Having said all that I think These Days was not a good follow up to CS which is prob in my top 3 TDE album.

True, but if i'm on TDE and those nikkas are on Interscope then i want the head cats at TDE to get me a deal at least on another major...he just feels left out

He tried to act like this down to earth hippy dude who made an album out of frustration and losing the love of his life.
