Nobody can play it yet because it's an Oculus Rift exclusive, and Oculus has fukked up the launch and nobody has their Rifts yet (including me).

shyt got bad review scores though too. I bought it in anticipation of my Rift (which I was told was coming in March....:comeon:). I'll do my impression on the Rift once I get it (they say a mid-April ship date now)

I'm also gonna make a new thread about VR (since I'm the only person on here with both a Vive and Rift). I'll explicitly outline the pros and cons, the games, and the pros and cons of the Rift vs. The Vive, etc.

If the Rift is like the Vive, it's gonna be a pretty negative thread. I'm not gonna be pulling any punches. I wanted to love VR so bad, but as of right now, shyt is underwhelming as fukk :francis:
How could they botch the launch so bad? This has been in the works forever.

Is there any chance Sony gets VR right?

Damn breh, did you rearrange your whole space just to play? I was worried this might happen.

Did you get both already? Or just the Rift? I have a feeling that Mirror's Edge might be the very first game that makes this worth checking out for me.
Yeah, I re-arranged my living room. I got a 10' x 10' space. I only have the Vive right now. Oculus fukked up the Rift launch, and only Kickstarter backers have units. I should have my Rift mid-month though (at least that's what they're saying). The Rift has A LOT more games, so I'm hoping I'm left with a better impression than the Vive. Please :sadcam:

Oculus said they had a "component shortage" and we'll know more on April 12 :smh:

They had 4 months to make these things, but fukked up the launch so bad. shyt is a disgrace. Nobody has their units. fukking bullshyt.

I don't think Sony is gonna be any better with their VR either. They're still using wands and a low resolution. Plus, it's underpowered compared to the PC variants.

shyt is like the Wii brehs. I hate to say it, but it's the Wiimote all over again :mjcry:

How many schools going to close, when you can get classes taught via VR...... :mjcry:

I hope this doesn't happen, but sometimes you never know how technology can all of a sudden disrupt shiit.... :whoo:

Lot of interesting things coming for this technology, probably something that hasn't even thought about yet until somebody gets a chance to put them on, but I'm still wondering about health concerns... :lupe:

My gut still tells me the preferred way to game will still be a controller and a TV. I don't believe in VR yet. It would be dope if it succeeded though.
My cuz played PSVR at the PS experience. He said when he played Drive Club demo He almost had a heart attack when lost control on the track.

He also said he had butterflies in his stomach when playing Rigs. The scale is legit he felt like he was really up in the air. "shyts intense cuz" his words.

He sold me on VR

Lot of killa apps coming for this technology, but I'm still wondering about health concerns... :lupe:
There are some serious health concerns. I played a "moving game" and it made me a bit uneasy. I took the headset off and was still fukked up for like 30 minutes. It's just not natural to trick your brain to move so fast without actually moving. It's hard to explain, but it's a jolting experience. I couldn't imagine playing a real "moving" game (which is most games) for 3 hours with the headset on and then taking it off. I think my brain will be fukked up something serious.

Yeah, that fine print.

That alone pretty much means it will be niche.

Ah well, I will assess the situation in September to see if money can be made. If not, I will just keep the PSVR to see if it is something that I think I will enjoy.

I think the Rift will be the headset to have. The Rift does more than just play games. The Vive is just gimmicky games right now. The Rift has more game support, TV, movies, etc. The Vive needs to jump on that ASAP. The Steam integration is nice, but it's only for games. I want to watch a game with the VR headset on. I wanna watch a movie in VR. The Rift will have that, while the Vive will just be for games.

I have high hopes for my Rift, just like I did with my Vive. I hope at least some of my dreams can come true. At least the Rift has been modded into a ton of existing "real" games. I can't wait to try Project Cars, Half Life 2, etc. With the Vive, I'm just playing shovelware.

That seems to be the concern: software.

Having a higher spec'd device or w/e isn't going to magically make "shovelware" games as you call it better. I'd say the software(for gamers) is what needs to be strong initially but like with any platform launch, these things take time.

Porn will help it :manny:
That low resolution though. shyt literally looks like your looking through a screen door. I normally play at 1440p. The resolution on these VR units is trash. You get used to it after a while, but, man....the resolution is pretty low.

Once they get the resolution up to 1080p and make good games, shyt will be nice. That's not happening until Gen 2 or 3 in my opinion though. Right now VR is for early adopters and enthusiasts. I think in 5 years it'll be perfected. Right now nobody knows what to do with the tech. It'll take a while before developers learn how to make a good VR game. OR....it'll just be a gimmick and fail like previous VR units

I cancelled my rift preorder. Now I'm glad I did after learning porn is not in 1080 or 4k. fukk outta here. Thought it was gonna be a clean ass image of HD p*ssy in there. But it's barely standard definition, and stretched. fukk outta here
