Was a big KI fan back in the day, this news been a long time coming :whew:

Unfortunately, the goofy sales model and attaching it exclusively to a doomed console are not good signs.

What goofy sales model? You can buy the full game or play the entire single player game and multiplayer as Jago for a demo.

What is there not to like?

Well for one you have to buy additional characters after you beat the game with Jago :umad:

You can buy the full game like any other fighting game.

How can you spin having a demo where you can play the entire single player campaign and multiplayer as bad? In a normal demo you play one round and that's it.

Edit- shyt, didnt realize I was being trolled by Courtdog.

Wow your a moron. You can pay full price and just buy the game outright if the fermium model confuses your simple ass.

I don't like the idea of being able to purchase "packs" of characters instead of the whole game, like dlc. Poses issues in online play. And is there even a hard retail copy to purchase or is it only download only? Seems cheap... :yeshrug:

You dont like that you can purchase the whole game but someone else isnt forced to? I see where you are coming from with the online play, you dont want to see a bunch of Jago's. Understandable. But hopefully if the game is good people will be interested in trying new characters. Plus someone who is really into the game wont just use Jago and thats it. All they have to do is use a simple matchmaking system and all the Jago only trial people will be weeded out.

Its download only. But because a game is download only doesnt mean its cheap. If that was the case then damn near every PC game being made today is cheap.

I actually think this is a genius way to get more people playing the game, especially since its a launch title and the consumer base will be small. In a normal fighting game demo you get 2 characters and can play 1 round. If those characters dont interest you then you may just leave the game alone. But here if you take Jago through the single player game you get to see more than just Sabrewolf. You get to see Cinder, Fulgore, Glacius, etc....so when you see Cinder you may get excited and decide you want to play as him. You just buy him and keep rolling with the game.

They said it will be available in retail or On demand. And Microsoft said all games will be available Day 1 as digital downloads

...But its not a PC game. Its an Xbox game. What kind of Xbox games are download only? Right, those that aren't legit, full value, retail games. Unless download only is gonna be a common practice with AAA XboxOne games, yeah it comes off as cheap.

I'm approaching it as a fighting game player, not casual. Different versions, select characters being unavailable, no hard copy. All these things are concerns. And only being on Xbox, of course.

You don't understand the product you're hating on :heh: You can get, but you don't need a hard copy because once you put it in your system it saves onto the HDD and then you don't need the disc anymore. And you got your info confused about this game
Earlier today, it was reported that Killer Instinct for the Xbox One would be completely free-to-play, thus putting a rather large, nasty elephant in the room of an otherwise positive prospect. But it appears as if Double Helix Games has set the record straight at a showfloor event.

In fact, the game will actually launch with a demo with one playable character, and allow you to purchase the entire game as normal -- like you would with any full retail release, in addition to character packs (similar to DLC or costume DLC in any current fighting game).

In my eyes, this actually seems like a feature in the form of an enhanced demo, allowing you to play at least one character with your friends in a full retail game, before you purchase the full game.
Now if you have a problem with Killer Instinct, just say so. Its not my cup of tea personally :manny:
