You know what I find hilarious about these kinda "such album was slept on but is actually a classic" thread? 99% of them are flat out wrong. 50% of them are cats bigging up obvious weedplates.

How does one hear "Mic-Nificent" and think: "yeah, that was a classic album" LMAO

nikkas know what classic is and isn't. We were a lot more objective in our day when it came to albums and hip hop in general.

I hate to bring up old shyt but I was listening to this album today and the thread crossed my mind...I probably was fukked up making this thread because at the time, i was making a string of threads in succession to piss most of yall off so i never really replyed....

I was surprised to see your reply...How is the Album a weedplate? Classics differ from person to person but you used "Mic-Nificent" as an example.
I thought the production on that song complemented bis correctly. Except for the first 2 bars the nikka ripped it...

Bis lyrics in it was complex and is a perfect example of real emceeing

this.

the original version was ten times better tho. I dont know why he didnt put the original version on the album. This version coulda been a possible street banger.

the same with the Rakim collabo....

The original version was the one that could have been a street banger...the album versions beat wasn't strong enough for those two greats, I wonder who produced this version ...it sounds a lil like Preemo but i cant confirm it.

i wouldn't be suprised if 2000 bc suffered from problems with sample clearance because one has to ask why would he go with the inferior versions?

i agree. the original "what what u beef with" was on the "white boys" soundtrack. The reason I think they changed it is because Salaam Remi produced it and Canibus at the time was beefing with Wyclef. Wyclef was Salaam Remi's guy. Also the original "C quel" had an extra 16 bars rhyming about masons.. I have that original Canibus and rakim joint on 12" when it was released before the album dropped. I have a promo cd which is different than the store cd. It has the extras 16 bars on. I also think the Journalist got the best of canibus sometimes on songs they'd appear on.

Not a classic but it's solid. Mic Club and Rip the jacker are Canibus only classics.

Canibus has not made a listenable reolayable song aince:

nikka we roll with the original.

Stop.

Son cried failed to re-ramp as an emcee. Plus never was focused enough to improve.

Stop the fake praise.
