So are we holding Dame to a standard this year or does he get to play the perpetual underdog? Again

Lol He’s had nothing but them is the point my guy . Like literally nothing but off series over his 8 or 9 year career, and the rosters have had turnover over that span....so the issue is him. Stop blame deflecting. He’s the leader he has to step up at some point and transcend....if he’s the player y’all allege him to be that is

.
wins & losses are credited to the franchise not just one player i know we sometimes fall into pinning it to one player but it's simply not reality

roster turnover is cool but if the roster never equals up to the other contenders you are facing what is the expectation¿

to burn the wick down just to get into the postseason then elevate that's some shyte very few have done

it's not set so that he's taking quarters off & games off to have a full tank where is the level up supposed to come from¿

this ain't a movie where folks somehow play better at their most exhausted & ran down

ha

This has already happened so the talent is there. But if your leader is deadass and no exaggeration shyt in every series he participates in, it’s only so much galvanizing you can expect the role/lesser players to do. He’s getting paid the big boy bucks to elevate them and not just himself, not the other way round....again, blame deflecting

.
it definitely does work both ways great franchises definitely elevate great players

the blazers haven't built something that can compete without dame

they pay him big boy bucks because the franchise is on his back right now

A.I got more peer love than the Glove. KG more peer love than Duncan etc etc....that means nothing. And you just said nothing

.
they got love because they were known to be great players who were in not so great situations

that is something that can determine a career arc

This thread has nothing to do with Steph, stay on topic. This is about Dame. It’s y’all who claim, it’s y’all who allege that he’s better than or at the very worse equal to Steph....so the expectations of a “lesser” player are moot in this evaluation of Dame. Stop bringing him up, y’all do that a lot when you have no substantive defense for why ya boy folds every year and why y’all be scared to hold him to any type of standard.
the standard bearer for success is chef/golden.state currently right¿

it is not a matter of being a lesser player as much as it is being in a less ideal situation

let's see how everything plays out as the standard shifts

when the standard bearers can't even meet the standard then what becomes the reason¿

Anytime anyone does this with Dame I'm always curious about the expectations. No one is realistically expecting him to beat LA so what is this conversation really about? Before that there was no realistic expectations for them to beat Golden State neither

People bringing up Iverson, but his team at least had a puncher's chance of going to the finals that one time he did, but the trailblazers as a team have never really even been a top 3 favorite to even win a title, have they?

Steph has been on a perennial title contending team up until last year.

Well then folks need to stop putting him in a tier, the ELITE tier, if he not gonna get held to the same set of standards as other elite players in the league without a ring (Harden, Giannis, soon to be/already Luka).

Lol bruh what. I don’t even feel like addressing all that nonsense.
Dame has a roster, the team needs to be in contention this year. Period

Yes. CJ is probably the second best perimeter shooter off the dribble in the league, great handle and clutch. He doesn't defend well but doesn't really need to in the regular season.
Same field goal percentage as Wiggins tho :manny:and Wiggins is the better defender.

ha there are a handful of better teams in the west alone what type of mission impossible shyte you looking for¿*
Lakers, Clippers and maybe Denver that’s it. 4 seed and should push either of those 3 teams to the brink in the 2nd rd instead getting his ass broomed like he do every year
